My dear fellows, The new year Eve is coming close. Only 2-3 days left for the biggest celebration of the year... That is the night when almost everyone awaits the arrival of new year, everyone waits for the clock to strick 12:00 AM. Then there is outcry of wishes... Everyone greeting 'Happy New Year' to the other fellow.. Last year, I remember, I greeted even the strangers... Like the last year, I am gonna be all alone this year too. I wanted to be in the office, but they have given me OFF. So I am gonna stay at home and watch TV and do myLotting.. I have nothing better to do! I feel quite unhappy, as the solitude will be the worst on that day. It'll take its toll and I'll get low again... I am not gonna drink, in any case; no matter how low I get, I won't drink... :)
Just out of my curiosity, how do you plan to spend the New Year Eve??? Please share...

In my teens New Years Eve was a time to hear thw top 100 songs of the year and try to guess what was number 1. Then waiting to see the ball drop and hear the first song of the new year. Now? It is just a new year coming in. I'll see the ball drop . Instead of listening for a song, I will probably see a film.

Last year I did not do anything either, and now that I am getting older, I am realizing that it is just another day. Yes, lots of people celebrate, but it is a good time to have to yourself so you can reflect on what you want the new year to bring you. This year, I have a wedding. One of my friends from elementary school is getting married, and I will see some of my college friends that I have not seen in some time. I think...and hope...that it will be a good time to bring in the new year! Best wishes to you in the new year!

I have to work during the day and then I might go a party that night. It's an hours drive for me so not really sure if I will go or not. I will most likely be home alone too. Probably go to bed before midnight and try not to think about it.

Hi... Same here.. I am working today for the whole day... And at night, I'll probably go to sleep after watching TV for a while... There is nothing else and better to do... Total Solitude... In that solitude, I'll wish myself 'Happy New Year'... Not really happy though...

I am going to celebrate new year with friends of my parents. I am probably going to party like most people of my age next year. I think it will be fun because there will also be other teens of my age that I know. Happy new year to everyone on mylot by the way :).

I can empathize with you as I have been totally alone on New Year's Eve many times (I drove a truck cross country for many years - alone). However, I am happy to hear that you will NOT be drinking on New Year's Eve! Thank God that you have enough sense or self control that you won't drink on the very day on which most people in this USA think of as 'I have to drink to celebrate this day'. To me, New Year's Eve is just another evening to spend with my family or friends playing games and talking or watching TV (if I am near my children and grandchildren).
I will spend New Year's Eve with my (homeless, except when she stays with me) friend whom I have invited to stay with me as long as she would like to stay; if I can get her to go with me to play games with my church family, we will do that. Otherwise, we will go inside my hosts' home (I live and travel in my 31' 5th wheel travel trailer and am currently set up in their driveway as is my oldest son who is a missionary preparing to go to Tanzania, East Africa, to do missionary work there. Hopefully we can all get together on New Year's Eve for some good Christian fellowship and fun.
May God bless you and show you the way to a happy time while being alone. The most important thing I learned while being alone all those years I drove a truck was how to be ALONE without being LONELY - first of all, one must enjoy being who they are and not trying to be 'one of the crowd'. God bless you in your efforts.

Hello Miss.. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. It is truly encouraging... To be Alone without being Lonely; what a beatuiful statement... You seem to lead an adventurous life... I admire that kind of life.. The solitude wants me break out and go somewhere, where I can begin a new life... I feel frustrated as the moment draws close...
Happy new Year to you too Miss...

BTW, I drove a truck cross country for 17½ years! Many long hours to reflect and enjoy my own company! ;-)
Our New Year's Eve was spent playing 'Mexican Train' domino game all the way through from double 12 to double blank. Many fun hours with a couple of hours of some TV shows playing in the back ground.
Thanks for the well wishes - and just another word for you to contemplate! About your "Break out and go somewhere, where I can ..." - just remember, going somewhere to start a new life does not always work as you always take your past and habits with you. It takes much self discipline to break out of habits whether they are good or bad with good ones easier to lose than the bad!
May God bless you in this New Year, now and all year long.

I will get together with my friends and have fun, drink a bit, watch television and after midnight we'll have a small party. For me that's always how New Year's Eve goes.

I'm spending it with my bf for sure because there's bound to be fireworks and it's a lovely sight to behold, with my bf with me. I want to enjoy that special moment with him. Though it would be crowded everywhere, everybody out in town counting down for the big day, i hope my bf would have a surprise for me as he knows i hate crowds. I don't mind counting down with the crowd as it adds on to the atmosphere, but if possible, i prefer a less crowded area for just a little more privacy.

Hmm I don't really know what we're doing but since the weather is so cold, I think i'll ust be staying indoors, or that is just what I wish for lol
I am not too sure but we have planned on going on watching the countdown but since there'll be a lot of people there, I don't really know. I wish I could just stay inside my warm house :)
Happy Holidays!

Hey that is nice.. You will treat it as just a normal day... I sometimes wish that others around me could do that too.. I mean, I see them celebrating and I just say 'Happy New Year' to myself... LOL... I hope, too, that 2012 will be better... Thanks a lot...
Cheers...

Yes, new year celebration is an enjoyment for everybody. I have planned to make all my family members and relatives together and celebrate the new year. I have already informed my relatives about this. Not all the drinks, but we will spend the time having a good dinner and greeting each other. that's all.

I've experienced being alone on New Year's Eve and I can tell how sad that is.. especially that those days I have no laptop and internet to at least entertain me. But since last year I am happily celebrating it with my family. 30 and 31st are the busiest day as we try to buy fruits and foods. We would start cooking and arranging everything on the table.
