So i just read this news about a guy who landed in jail after his girlfriend posted her engagement ring online. It turns out that the ring was stolen! I cannot even imagine how the girl might have felt. I have stopped posting updates on facebook a long time ago.

Was it the guy who stole the ring? Or he bought it from someone and have no idea it was stolen? Must be so sad and depressing for the girl

hmmn he shouldn't do this just to make a proposal. If he can't afford an expensive one he can buy at least a cheaper one... I also can't imagine what the girl have felt.

There is no place safe from being spied upon. I cannot feel sorry for this couple because life is so public right about now; we all take risks when we enter the cyber world. I do wish both of them well and hope they both take this as a learning experience (as should we). "Post at your own risk! Information posted here may/will be released publicly on the worldwide web." should be a required notice on all sites that release your postings publicly on the web.

Really now!? Just to show how advanced technology is and the police are patrolling the internet now too! But that guy should have known better, everyone can see that and he should have expected someone to recognize that ring. But then again his girlfriend never knew and she posted it on Facebook. Once you put something on the internet, it still stay there and you have no idea ow many pother people can just take that image or see it. But such bad luck to the guy, I wonder how the girl felt to now have her partner be in jail because of her. Serves him right in stealing an engagement ring.
Facebook has been used for a lot of things and it can be quite dangerous. Some people have been posting inappropriate things and people can see that you know. You have no idea who might be looking at your pictures. Also, cyber bullying has been quite popular there too with lots of gossip and fights going on virtually. There was an article in the newspaper about a man posting a Facebook message to have a violent riot at this this small town square, when he got there he was met by whole group of police.

Wow!! I had not heard about this one yet. I know if I was the girl I would definately be let down, and definately refuse to ever have anything to do with him again. At least she found out what he was like before they ever got married and not afterwards. I hope she will be a little more choosier from now on for sure.

Tsk tsk tsk!!!! the facebook has an advantage that the suspect was able to caught in act. Well we don't know the whole true story but how could you enjoy a moment of love if you have done it in a wrong way? I mean does he think that from stolen ring he can make his girlfriend completely happy?

Do you want to say that boy stole the ring and then give it to the girl in their engagement?
Well it rest you know.
It is stupidity of girl and offcourse boy too. If boy stole the ring then sold it and buy a new one that is foolish task. Gitl made it worst by postin it on facebook.
I just have no word but to lauhg any way it pity to both.
