So you don't get paid to comment? [em]sad[/em]

I think that you have misunderstood the meaning of the various numbers and ratings which MyLot show. The number in brackets beside your name is your User Rating or Activity Rating. It shows (approximately) how many discussions you have been involved in, not how many times you have posted in total or how much you have earned. Your earnings are calculated according to the quality of every post and of your participation as a whole. The more valuable your contributions (as decided by MyLot's complex and secret algorithm AND by how other users rate your discussions, responses and comments), the more you will benefit. The system has worked satisfactorily and fairly for nearly six years and that is all that anyone needs to know about it. Your 'star' value (MyLot Reputation) is ALSO based on how people rate your posts but doesn't have any DIRECT effect on your earnings. While it is true that people with a lower 'star' value will, on the whole, earn less, that is only because the Discussion Rating system affects BOTH the Reputation AND the earnings. Just because someone has a low 'star' value doesn't mean at all that they may not earn as much for any particular post as anyone else. They may have received negative ratings for poor quality posts in the past but, if they pay attention and start posting excellent quality responses and comments, they may receive many positive ratings and begin to earn well for their participation. Eventually their 'star' rating will catch up.

Sending good quality and intelligent comments or replies should be our priorities and not the earnings or the numbers beside our username. Eventually, all will increase in values as long as the admin of this site sees that your "participation" is worth upgrading. I don't put much pressure to myself on the earning side because my priority is to enjoy the site and learn from the exchanges of views in the discussions. But don't get me wrong, I also love to earn! :)

As far as I know and based on my experiences here, we are paid for our participation here which includes commenting on your responses. I don't know where you read that admin doesn't pay for commenting. Maybe you can test it by doing nothing for a day but only commenting to your responses. You need of course be more descriptive in your comments.

Hi, i think you'd better do that. Since we are not allowed to talk about the earnings, (well, of course, we are not sure which posts and which comments or response really earn us money, earn how many cent). You know, sometimes i think most of my posts can only earn me 1 cent, comment may not earn me any more. But we should remember this: if you don't comment on the responses on your discussions, then you are regarded by the site inactive, and being active is also a factor influence your earnings. Therefore, you'd better to comment back on the responses you got. Furthermore, i think it is polite to do that, because the people respond to your discussions will feel disappointed if there is no comment.

Of course you get paid for your comments here, Boyuancy. If you have any doubts or questions about things like this you should contact Mylot for the answers and they will explain it to you. Putting up a discussion like this just gives others who might be new a wrong impression of Mylot. Also, you are leaving yourself wide-open for others who don't know to give you wrong information that may have been passed to them by reading some discussion such as this or that they just surmise like you have here.

Hello boyuancy. The number as mentioned above, only rises when you reply to a discussion OR when one of your discussions gets at least one answers (thus becomes active and you get paid for it). For example if you only do tasks and upload pictures your number won't rise, but you are able to earn 50 cents at least. Commenting is important but not the kind that only say "thanks for replying" as stated by the mylot guidelines and FAQ. Actually the comments that matter in terms of earning are, in my opinion, the ones that actually add more the discussion.

boyuancy that number has nothing to do with your earnings,it just shows your activity is all. Yes you earn for comments and responses and anything you type. Hello boyuancy, You need to read the guidelines again. Actually you earn for whatever you write but that should be relevant and should have quality content. You must observe it once again.Try to be more descriptive as you can when you write response/comment. Don't beleive on any body just go to the guidelines and observe it.May be when you observed it your earnings might not have updated as it takes time for your earnings to get updated its not just writing response/comment and earnings get updated here.

Boyuancy, Yes, you get paid for commenting. What do you think? You type you earn. I type I earn. We don’t get paid for what other folks do here. We get paid for what we do. Keep commenting. It may not add to the number beside your name but it does pay well. I think commenting on your own discussions pays better than commenting on others, but I can’t prove that… I just have experienced my earnings increase when I host my own discussions. I don’t make discussions thought, unless I really have something I want to talk about.

You should earn by commenting as well. It may doesn't add your activity rating but you should earn from what you typed if it has a good quality :). I tested it myself by just commenting all the day and yeah, I still earned from that :). Anyway, how can you conclude like that?

that is not true, we earn from commenting to responses, actually commenting back to responses in your own discussion/s is the best way to earn more because it doesn't take so much time to do it compared to responding to different discussions wherein you still need to keep looking for discussion that looks interesting to you. I believe it is even possible to earn a dollar in just commenting in in one of your own discussion if that discussion has many responses and you comment back to all the responses and initiate to longer the conversation so that the member who respond will reply back to your comment and both of you keep coming back to reply.

Answering discussions adds up to the rating we have at the right side portion of our names. Good points about answering or commenting back to out own topic it doesn't add up to finding the good topic that interest us most. I myself earn while adding up quality related topics on my own discussions after i answer to the reply of other myLotters. Keep up boyouncy..
