Hi!
I am going to buy a PC To work from home like Medical transcription, Online data entries, blogging etc.
Can anyone kindly help me with the configuration required for the same as i am not much aware with the updated features of desktop systems and worried that the buyer can convince me to buy the extra features which may not be required.
Thanks
Punam

For that sort of straight office work a low specification is all you need. If buying a new computer then the cheapest one would be adequate. If buying secondhand then a +or- 2Ghz CPU; 2Gb RAM; 500Gb hard drive; on board graphics; Windows 7; would be fine
I would spend extra on a good quality keyboard, like a Microsoft or Logitech as the keyboards bundled with a new PC are usually cheap and nasty. You may not be able to use your old keyboard as many modern PCs don't have PS2 ports, only USB. But you can get PS2 to USB adaptors though.
Also make sure you have some (at least 3) blank DVDs so that you can burn System Restore discs when you first start it up. That way you save your copy of Windows if the hard drive fails.
