Another flop show by Team India

Malaysia
December 29, 2011 6:04am CST
A lot was being said and predicted, but today the result came. Chasing to Australia's 333 and 240, Team India got wrapped in 282 and 169 only. With a team of such an excellent calibre, this is the least expected. Somehow I felt that Indian batsmen were in hurry. Gambhir was no where to bee seen in series. Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid tried to hold the grip but all went into vein. As of now Australian team is so inexperienced and thus quite vulnerable. J L Pattinson did outstanding job, but So did the Zaheer. It was fault of batsmen. What can be expected from them in next series if they continue to dismal their fans.

I think there were three main reasons to lose, 1. I feel this team has already departed since england tour and still some disputes are going on.. 2. Team always facing australians cheating based unfair appeals and umpires always go for their sides.. 3. Team selection is very poor, Kohli is useless in the team. instead R.Sharma,C.Pujara or S.Raina would be better choice. I believe these reasons according my opinion as my view..

@rajeev075 - Major percentage of Umpires decision has been negative against india and specially in Australian tour of india, and about cheating the latest example was between "Harbhajan & Symonds" in previous tour, if you watch all past series between India-Australia you will get to see unlimited examples of cheatings of host team. And you say about Dhoni, it is also waste in the test team, his footwork shows everything wheather he is suitable for test or not. @vishalssgk - This is not blaming my friend,This is reality of our great indian team, How players are coming and disappearing in team we can not say, Akash chopra played so well innings in past and specially in australian past tour but he had to go by some dirty policies of cricket board. Lot of politics behind the team but no one wants to expose it.

If you can't play well and loss the match then start blaming the umpires. I feel that there were no cheating it total failure of batting from INDIAN team nothing else. Always try to make umpire little poor decision into cheating. That's not fair. If kholi is useless in team then what about Dhoni? He just there to changes the bolwer no no no oh for the tooss , i just forgot it. Ha you seen how Rohit and raina had performed in England? Don't try to b lame any one each of them are same. Kholi played well in prectice matches but why he do able ti put up the same only he can know.

Hahahahah Rajeev I completely agree with you. This blame culture has been following the Indian cricket since its evolution. Bowlers blame batsmen, batsmen blame bowlers,Media blames selection committee , selection committee blames management. Management blames coach, coach blames pitch curator, curator blames weather.

I wouldn't call it a "flop show". Your bowlers were sensational to topple our top order batsmen very quickly. Our own three-pronged bowling attack was amazing to watch & out-performed all expectations. One cannot blame it on the pitch this time, as the grounds, they said, equally favoured both batsmen & bowlers. There was huge support for India at the stadium - The Swarmi Army I think they called it. The body paint was certainly "out there". It was a good game to watch in some excellent weather & there were some excellent displays from both sides. Let's hope we see fewer injuries & we can all see some great performances from now on.

Yes Veganbliss. Lets play the game with the true sportsman ship. Lets hope that both the teams will retain their great shape and things will be favouring a healthy match. Cant wait for the next match to start... Good luck to both the teams......

The last thing I heard is that they banned the Swarmi Army from seeing their players in the practice nets. They have always allowed them in the past. The security says the Indian team wanted it that way. Captain Dohni denies it. The Swarmi Army are very upset... who knows just what they will do?

Dont worry. This is just cricket. Such things happen all the time. And in my opinion Swami army or any such army won't have audacity to do anything against the spirit of the game. We must understand that such "armies" are nothing but a group of hardcore cricket fans like me and you.

This sequence of poor starts to tours is becoming embarrassing. For some reason, India always seems to lose the first match in any series. Then they do make a comeback in the second or third test, but by then they are only fighting to save the series. The same thing seems to have stuck again. This was a great chance for them to win the match. It was in their grasp in the third morning. They simply let it slip away from them with poor batting from there on!! Cheers! Ram

See I have a little different opinion regarding this. These players go to different places, countries and continents most of the time there is a lot of time zone swap. So as per my observation, this can be a cause of that. Also foreign grounds are alien lands for them, but then again this rule implies with all the teams in the world. We see South Africans win the matches in foreign land too and that too in different continents.

Truth is that INDIAN always underpeform. No baoy can say whether will beat or not. It is totaltly unpredictable from team INDIA thier performance. From the beginning to now you would have seen that they had lost the match which were in favour of them and won which are against them. Team INDIA man in blue is purely unpredictable. I can tell where they did the things wrong. 1. In the first inning they let Austrailia passed 300 didn't get out the tails easily. 2. First inning score was very good untill the sachin got out. Three of the batsmen, Laxman, Dhoni and Kholi didn't added anything to the score. It was Aswin who added few runs else lead would have been much more. Tails we can't aspect them to play but they also played poorly. 3.In second inning when Australia was struggling it was not possible for them to cross the score of 200. Bowlers let them score 240. Why can' they get off the tails? 4. Second inning batsmen get in the cell and they feel pressure of chasing a huge amount of runs. No body from beginning try to play good. All were just going to get out. It was funny to see that crossed the score of 150. Well 179 is not enough . If Team INDIA can't beat thier weak Austrailian team then they never going to win any series in Australia. I hope like other that they will perform better in 2012 but it is truly unpredictable their performance.

Hello rajeev075 , First of all, nice analysis of the game. At the starting of the match, everything was in India's favor. But, due to the bad performance of the players, lost the match .

Hello vishalssgk , what makes me confused is that, if Aswin can score 61 runs in total, why the specialized batsmen can't ! Let us hope India will come back to the series the coming matches. India usually have a tendency to loss in the first match and to come back with more power. But, during the England series it was all gone .

That s a good question and every fan has the right to ask this to our beloved team. They must come up with some reasonable answers otherwise fans will think that the team is not putting in extra efforts.

I think India will put the efforts in the nest match and make the game to their side. Let's dream so

I understand you feelings vishalssgk. Yeah it was very disappointing match. So called strong batting line up fell to inexperienced Australian bowling attack but credit must be given to Australian bowlers, they have bowled to a line which Indian batsmen do not like. So, this match is one more poor one for team India. In this match the turning point was in the first innings where India were 200 odd with lost of 3 wickets from there they just collapsed for 282. After this many chances were given to Hussey and Ponting which allowed them to score 240 runs. But the worst part is India's second innings. It is hard for India to come back in the series from here on.

Yeah definitely Indian bowlers have did everything they can and restricted Australia below 300. It was gettable for the classy Indian batsmen but they didn't showed any kind of responsibility and in my opinion they are are the only responsible for this loss. In the coming tests of course the batsmen has to perform well.

another misery for team india, i do not know when they are going to learn from the past mistakes they do this everytime. now what next we have 3 matches ahead of this and in australia this is going to be the most difficult task intresting to see what is going to be the dhoni strategy for rest of the games.
