Hi
Actually browsers will not make that much difference. But still Chrome is little good for slow Internet in compare of other browsers. I am using many browsers(opera, firefox and chrome). And from all of them chrome is little bit faster. It will not increase the speed way up.. But still its good for slower Internet connections. That's what I think after using all these browsers.

My most favorite browser is definitely firefox. For me, it is good for loading with slow internet access. When i try some other browsers, they usually can't show the complete page when the browser is loading for moe than one minute. Usually some of the pictures are missing, but with firefox that problems are rarely happens. But the worst part of firefox is sometimes it could crashing suddenly and need the browser to relaunch before can using it again. It usually hapens with low specifications computer. Also it takes more times to launch the firefox with low specs computer and make me wait almost one minute or more only to launch it. Beside that, it is a dependable browser and i hope they could fixed this kind of problems in the future.
Happy browsing... ^_^

I also use Firefox but have found recently that it crashes a lot. Chrome I have found reliable and quick and I also use Safari as an alternative. With a slow speed I would choose Chrome.
If you use Windows then I would open Internet Explorer and see if you have automatically updated to IE8 or IE9 (goto Help About to see the version) Make sure you have all the addons disabled as they slow IE down and as IE is such an integral part of Windows it slows Windows down as well, whether you use IE or not.

Personally, I find Chrome to be much quicker than Firefox: I can start the browser and open three or four pages in the time it takes Firefox to start. That said, performance often depends VERY much on what plugins you use - since I don't use any at all on Chrome, that may be why it's quicker for me.

If your connection speed is really poor, you can choose chrome or maxthon. They'll make you feel better. But I have to say, mozilla firefox is a web browser that suits most cases. This browser use much less memory than chrome, while the performance is no worse than any other browsers.

Personally I use Firefox because it is reliable and many useful addons. Apart from Firefox , chrome is my second favorite. Because it is light and uses less resources.
It will be a good option for you especially if you have low internet speed.
You may try safari also , I have not tried it but it is said that it runs smooth.
