I would rather watch a movie than read a book, I have grown weary of reading imaginary tales that I know the ending before I am a quarter way finished. The non fiction ones are non fiction according to the author. A movie does not take as long and is easier to forget, also one can doze off and still not miss any thing. My quest for knowledge has come to a halt as I have learned that no one cares what I know including me. The only thing that is important to know is when dinner is being served.

I usually read 2 - 3 books a week so even 2 times 52 is 104+ books in a year.

I don't read nearly as much as I wish I could. When I do read, I enjoy true crime and mystery or suspense. John Grisham and Ann Rule are two of my favorite authors.

I love to read. James Patterson is one of my top favorities. I will read every book he writes, no matter how many that is. But in general, I must say it is about 12 or more a year easily.

Thanks to myLot for the past two weeks, I haven't read my book too much. I can normally go through a book a week. But I will try to do other things to keep me from reading so fast.
I enjoy reading. But if I read a series, I have to read it in order. So going to a used book store is very helpful. Or buying books on Amazon.com because the used books stores listed thru Amazon also.
I should really get my books from the library...but then I have to put it on reserve and wait for someone else to finish reading it.
Currently, I am reading the Dark series...better known as the Carpathian series by Christine Feehan.

Great response, thank you! I'm never to good at reading a series, unless I buy it all at once, I'm so paranoid that I'll never find the next installation! I've never heard of the Carpathian series but it sounds interesting, I hope you enjoy it!

My goal is to read 50 books a year and before mylot that was easy. Now I have to work hard to schedule my time for reading, as I enjoy learning new things about food dishes, water gardening, and ways to make my business a success. I read at least 1 mystery a month and am always looking for authors that have interesting characters and the crime is not easy to solve.

I am around 20, maybe 30 books so far this year. I have read all of the Alex Cross Series but one, the 1st 4 of the WOmen's murder club, I am almost done with When the WInd Blows, I also read a few Stephen King. Some books for work. The left behind series.
I like to read.

if i like a book, i can read it for 2-3 days, max of 5 days. i really make it a point to grab the book whenever i am not doing anything. i bring it with me, everywhere that i go. so i think i can read as many books that i can. books that i usually read ranges from romance to fiction to inspirational.. anything that i can hold :)

I never really paid attention to how many books I read, but I would guess that it is somewhere between 12-24. I read on average at least one a month. Sometimes more and sometimes I will go a month without reading a book.
It is not a goal of mine to read a certain number of books. I simply read for enjoyment. Sometimes for knowledge.

I love to read. When I am not too busy, I average a book a week. I like to get thick books that may last a bit longer. My husband will pick several books based on subject and then decide which one to get me by how many pages it has. I used to go to the library every other week during the summer when I was young and check out the maximum allowed and then read late into the night. During the school year, I had to be forced to put down the book and go to bed.

One of the goals I've listed on 43things.com is to read 100 books in a year. I'm way behind. So I better pick out a book to read today and get going again. I have many books on my shelves that I haven't read yet, or only read a few chapters in. Thanks for reminding me.

I used to read _all the time_ when I was younger. In fact, in elementary school I won at least one contest from our local library as to who read the most books in a certain amount of time. You had to read the books and then mark them down on a list as you read them, and then the person with the most on their list at the end won. I can't remember what I won.. probably a ribbon, or maybe just the prestige of having won a contest *laugh* But it was a neat honor to receive.
I also have an old cariacture drawing of myself that my parents had done when I was about 8-10 years old of myself as a bookworm *laugh* I really was such a reader back then. Right now, I actually am sad to say that I need to replace my library card. I haven't had a working one for awhile now, because my old one expired. I'm just so addicted to the internet and sites like Mylot that I tend to neglect my reading duties nowadays.
I did read at least three books last year, and I sometimes look up and read fan fiction online that are based on series that I enjoy. So who knows how much I really read last year, if you count fanfics *laugh* I honestly don't recall.
Anyway, thanks for your thoughtful question! ^_^
