A couple of years ago, I heard this terrible racked coming from my inside my ceiling. I didn't know what it was until I went outside later on to get in my car and there was a great big hole in the siding of my house, a blasted squirrel had chewed a whole in my siding. I got that hole fixed, now today I went outside to get in my car now there is another place where a squirrel has been chewing on the siding again. Is there anyone out there in MyLot Land that know anyway for me to get these nasty little critters from chewing holes in the siding of my house?

Wow this would be annoying. Especially since anytime you have a situation like this you end up having to spend money to get it fixed. I have never heard of Squirrels being a nuisance like this, but it would not be something I would want to deal with. Maybe you need to find ways to make them go somewhere else, like a Tree and have food and such there that can eat on.

The only thing I know of that squirrels don't like is moth balls. There is a product called "Squirrel-Away" or something like that but it's just a bag with moth balls in it. If you can put a bunch of small bags filled with moth balls around where the squirrels are getting to the siding or can glue or nail some bags into the siding where they're chewing, I doubt you'll have any more problems, at least not in that spot. They're trying to get into your house to stay warm.
The only other method of getting them to stop is to eliminate them. You could try a trap and bait it with peanut butter and nuts. I have a Habitrap, it's one that just traps them but doesn't harm them. I've never used it on squirrels but have caught an opossum in it. If you use one of them, you'll have to drive the critter a few miles away before letting it go or it'll find it's way back to your house in no time.
Then there's the other solution, call an exterminator. That will get rid of the squirrels currently causing the problem but more could come and take their place. You may have to replace that part of your siding with sheet metal. It won't be pretty but that's much harder to chew through.
Are they getting to your house from a tree? If so, having the tree cut down could help to keep them from getting to the spot where they're trying to get in.
I'm sorry to say there's really no easy solution. Once they've found a good nesting spot, they're very determined critters!
Hmmm, maybe you could try getting a cat? Mine has successfully kept the squirrels out of this house.
