Is the Commonwealth still relevant?

Amid global uncertainty and insecurity, questions are being asked as to the role of the Commonwealth which groups 54 former British colonies. Queen Elizabeth II has vowed to make it relevant as a biennial meeting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) opens in Perth, Western Australia, today. She says she expects the forum to tackle key issues such as worries over global finances, insecurity of food supply and global warming.

I think we are very lucky to be part of the Commonwealth, I say God Save The Queen and may she reign for many years to come...I think there is a lot of people out there who just think it is cool to bag the Queen and the Commonwealth, I know of many countries under a dictatorship would would love to be in our shoes....
