Supposed that you were my boss. You will feel mad if I say it is not my fault. However, will you feel angrier if I say it is my fault? Just now we talked about it in the office and it seems the latter reply will be much more annoying. As your boss will not know how to deal with you since you already accept it is your fault

It depends on whether you actually make a mistake or not.If you don't,you may well say it is not my fault, conversely you must admit your mistake. As a boss,he /she ought to distinguish clearly between right and wrong and can't judge thing just by what staffs have said.

Perhaps it also depends on the boss's mood?

There is no place for sentiment in management.

I would think that the boss would be more mad if he thought it was your fault and was set to that and then you denied it. It would really depend on the circumstances and how bad the situation was. Honesty is always the best way to handle things. Hopefully a person has not committed any mistakes and doesn't have to go through this.

I would have to hope that the human element entered into it on both the side of the boss' and of the worker.

I would be mad if i am being lied to, whether if it is a fault or not of the person i am speaking with... I would first not be mad at the person's face, though... but i would be talking to the person and will most probably just accept what has happened and do everything to correct the mistakes done.

No...I think it would make me feel better if the person at fault accepts responsibility. There is no reason to point fingers or lay the blame on others when nine times out of ten, they know when they come to you if it is your fault or not already anyway. It can make one look worse to blame others or deny responsibility in my opinion.

Nope. I will never get mad to them if they say honestly that's their fault. I just hope they will figure it out and know how to settle it once they make the mistake. It is better to inform it when you already make mistake so we could fixed the error as soon as possible. It is much more annoying if they just make excuses and blame others. We could tell from their face that they have done it with much effort or they just play around. BE honest is better.(^^)

But the boss may feel mad since they can't yell at you any more since you already accept the fault

Oh yes, that is the purpose of being honest. To make the boss feel mad as they will got nothing to attack you back.. One thing I learn about accepting the fault is the boss will just get straight to the point by asking you to fixed the problem. That is all..Have some pity to us and the boss as well so don't make the problem become worst. If it is really our fault just admit it. Unless if it is not.(^^)

i think the results are the same.when your boss angried and yell, the best thing you can do is to keep silence, and not to explain, coz at that time, your boss heard nothing!you'd better say sth.about it after he is quite

If my subordinate tell me honestly and sincerely that he/she made mistake, I will definitely accept it and not angry with him/her, instead I will help him/her to solve the problem together. I hate my subordinate who do not admit their fault but instead give me all kind of reason and excuses and trying to push their fault on someone else. I will definitely punish this kind of subordinate.

It depends on the way and body language when you accept your fault. Some people accepts their fault as it least bother them or just like an innocent child as they don't know anything, then you will go furious. But If the confession shows a responsible one and much confident to resolve the mistake then your boss will slow down and appreciate i hope. At least i will do if i would have your boss ;)

Try to imagine if I made a mistake and said:"It is my fault." Then so what?
