E-mail addresses can be easily spoofed . Nothing matters if you are a sender of that or not. If someone knows your mail id or you/ your friend have joined some suspicious site than it can be used to spoof your id.
You can do nothing to stop it. i would advice to report it to your mail host and never open such a mails.

Spammers quite often 'spoof' the From: field in emails to make it look as if the email actually came from you. They have software which composes the email and fills in the From: field with one of the recipient's email addresses.
It is possible to do this yourself, in fact, in most email clients and the feature is used in business legitimately so that emails can be sent from one address but any replies will go to another address.
Spammers, of course, are using the facility to try to avoid spam mail being filtered into the Spam or Junk folders.

Hi.. I send an e mail to myself from time to time, it becomes necessary... But I never got it without my sending it to myself... This is the strangest thing I have ever heard... I would recommend you to not to open it. These hackers can go to any mean level these days to harrass and exploit you...
Take care...

I have had this happen to me a few times. I wish these hackers would find something constructive to do other than doing destructive things to others.

The same thing has been happening to me recently also. I mainly just ignore and not open the e-mails.

That was weird although I can receive also a mail from my own id because I intentionally do that, but receiving it without your knowledge was something to be alarming. Make sure that you find out what wrong with it or you could also lost your paypal earnings
