This is tedious work but I have been unpicking the stitching on a tshirt to start a tshirt rug similar to a friend of mine...I have also been unpicking the stitching to an old fitted bed sheet to do a rig out of that...i know alot of you are probably thinging why don't you just cut the sewn bit off? My theory is that this is wasted material that I could use for the rug i plan on crocheting...I just hope it doesn't take too long before I can start cutting into strips as the unpicking bores me...do you do tedious tasks like this for the love of your craft?

Sometimes I do tedious things like that and then I wonder why. I hate to waste things, though so sometimes I get creative and save myself some work, too. For instance, I use the elasticized hems on worn out fitted sheets to tie things. I have some around small trash baskets in my office/craft room to keep the liners (plastic grocery bags) in place.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does things like that, I too hate to waste things

I have done so many tedious tasks to be able to do my craft! The worse one I've ever had to do was sort different colour seed beads (the tiny tiny ones!) back into their colour groups after I dropped the box and mixed them all up. It took me hours but was worth it in the end to have them all in the right groups. Good luck with your project!

I did things like that when I was younger and my eyes were better. Butthey were a bit different as each of us recycle old things to make new beautiful things in a different way. I would love to see pictures of the before and after project. We could learn a lot from what other friends here do.
