Whom do you love more?

If you smoke, you do harm not only to yourself but also to others. But it is also true that at the same time you help the government in earning revenue as tax. Thus at the cost of your health and also of others, you are serving your country in earning revenue. So you have to decide whom you love more- your country or yourself? If you have more love for yourself than for your country, you should quit smoking immediately, but if you have more love for your country than for self, you may continue smoking but that you would do at the cost of your health or even life. So it is clear to all smokers that they have to choose between their country and selves.

LOL, silly argument. I like it.
Same could be said for driving, drinking, eating at McDonald's or just about anything else unhealthy, too. Does that also mean that, if we love ourselves more, we shouldn't work (so we don't pay tax)?

This reminds me of a nice joke I came across written by somebody else
If you drink, you get drunk,
If you get drunk, you go to sleep
If you go to sleep, you dont SIN
so lets all drink and go to sleep..
So..
Let us not pay work..government doesnt have to run those buses and trains and ...and we wouldnt be able to buy many things so it does not have to monitor so many things including taxes..

I wish you hadn't even started this discussion. Why? Because now smokers may think they have a good reason for continuing to smoke. Ugh! Second hand smoke is a killer and bad enough but now they have a reason to continue putting out there and think they are okay doing it.

I myself don't smoke. My brother-in-law does. He has been trying to quit and my sister keeps trying to help him! I think he loves his country more becasue he hasn't quit! If not it is an addiction that is exteemly hard to break! On the other hand my friend Chris quit in Septemeber. He loves himself enough to quit! He is trying to improve himself!

I like this question. Of course, I love my body first. Then, I can love my country. It is impossible to love your country, if you don't love your body. It is as simple as that.
