Adding Pages to Blogger

I have a question specifically for those of you who use Blogger.com - do you use the feature of adding pages? For example, I have my Home page, which is blog entries, then a traffic page, then earn cash page, and it looks like I can add 7 more pages. Each is tabbed at the top. I also have a widget - just one, though, to the right side. I hope to make a nice, clean, and organised blog, however, is there such thing as having too many pages? I might have to redo it all over again, but the main thing I want is to look neat and tidy and easy on the eyes.

Hi Masihi! Good to see you again friend! I visited your blog and followed it. I like your blog, simple and neat, keep it up! I think 7 more pages will not make it "overcrowded". Anyway, there are still some spaces for your added pages. It will still look neat, for me.

That is a relief because I really want to add more pages. In the Earn Cash section you'll see banners. Now what I'm starting to do is to add a detailed page for each banner and moving the appropriate banner to that page as well. So eventually when I get organised that Earn Cash tab should be gone. I've already done the same thing for swagbucks, and now I want to do the same thing for mylot.

I saw the banners in the Earn Cash tab you're saying. Yes,it's a great idea to add a detailed page to each banner. By the way, are those banners made by you? It's my first time to see the mylot banner,I wish to put it also in my blog, can you please share me how you got the mylot banner Masihi, thanks!

Yes. You can have many pages but at least 20 stand along pages. And it should not be more than 1 MB per page size. I'm also a blogger for 2 months I guess. I'm still on my way making my blog more nice and clean. Hope it will you in your blog. Have a nice day and Happy New Year Masihi.

Okay, thanks for your suggestion, I think me using black is an automatic adjustment I make because I'm visually impaired and my eyesight require the good contrast, otherwise I find it very difficult for me to read. Perhaps a navy blue will be better? I'll go to your profile, is your blog posted in there as well?

Ohh. One thing, I think it's not nice to use pure black as your text color because it makes the words looks not great. Me, I use light black like gray and white background so that it won't harm my eyes or make my eyes teary as the viewers read the content.

I think you mean to organize your blog into sections (which can either be a blog or a page). As for me, I favor having seven sections which are all blogs and accessible from the menu. I have a front-page section for the news, two sections for feature articles, a codex section for how-to and technical stuff, a section for products and services, a section about people and an editorial or opinion section. I use pages for stuff that are semi-permanent or where I need to gather similar information together. For example, I have a page under the news section about newsmakers where I can list various entities I have covered. And I have a page under codex for reference websites where I have links for easy access. For me, the page is good solution for adding a bibliography to your blog so that is how I usually use it. Although seven sections (or blogs) increased work considerably, I think it's a good structure for an online publication.

Hmm, okay, that sounds reasonable. I know I had my blog for a long time but never really worked on it until the past few months or so, but even then it's sporadic. I do plan on using my blog a lot more especially in the new year.

You can add upto 10 pages in blogger with each are static pages and only one content can be place there we can't place the diffrent diffrent posts like we do in home pages. Well there are many widgets with which you can decorates the bloggers. The pages can be put at top or even at bottom or in side. Blogger can also be decorate with the template design. Choose a template that help you design best as you want.

I do understand how to add/delete/edit the pages, but I guess I'm asking that if I added all ten pages will that look overcrowded from a reader's perspective? I've been to some blogs - from all kinds of domains and they're really flashy and hard on the eyes. My blog is in my profile if you want to see it, but you'll see that I have one sparkly welcome sign, one widget, and 3 pages, and it's a nice plain, off-white template designed to be easy on the eyes. I want to add more content but want to do so without giving it the overcrowded look. I may redo some of my pages, I would like to have more than 3 pages, as I have so much I want to share, but I also want it to be simple and not overload the visitor. It's hard to find the right balance, I suppose. It's like trying to get it to look nice and simple yet trying to make it look well-established at the same time...lol, decisions! :-p I know for me, I look for neatness, and if it's well-established, and not too flashy. (from a reader's perspective)

Yup. A lot of online publications are overwhelming for the reader. Some have too many sections and haphazard in organization. Some have very few sections (i.e., one or two) that are packed with a messy mix of articles and trivial stuff. This is, of course, understandable because most blog publications do not have an editor-in-chief to guide in the design. Anyway, it's good that you are thinking about your readers and assuming the role of editor-in-chief. I think it will be a great benefit to your blog in the long term if you organize it well.

Hello Masihi. I've viewed your blog and it's nice. It would be nice to make your blog simple. It would make your blog load easily and won't hassle your viewers waiting for your blog to fully load. I think you could merge some of your pages content because I think having 10 pages is quite not nice to see. But it would be fine if those pages really differs.

I should add an About section to my blog, then, I know Wordpress automatically add that About page on but seems like with Blogger I have to manually add it on. Thanks for your post, that gave me a good reminder, because I think my readers would want to know more about me as a person, hehehe

Yes, I know how to add pages, and the editing/adding/deleting. I just want to know if adding all ten pages from a reader's perspective will make it look crowded. I am trying to achieve a neat-looking blog without too many frills. My blog is in my profile. It has a clean off-white template with a sparkly welcome sign so that's the only flashy thing I have on it. I've been to some where there's too much colour and hard on the eyes.
