This year I have been listening and reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It has taught me so much and reminded of how important it is to be a friend with our Heavenly Father Jehovah God and with Christ Jesus. "Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need.."Matthew 5:3(NW) Yes, if we are conscious of our spiritual need, we keep studying and reading God´s word and in this way we can find a happiness that is so rare in today´s world. So I´m starting again from Genesis 1:1 on January 1st. Will you join me in reading the Bible??

I will be reading the Bible as well. There's a YouVersion mobile app that I got from BlackBerry AppWorld, and I downloaded it. They have a few reading plans, and my plan of choice would be the historical reading plan. I love history, always have been fascinated with history for many, many years. I'm wishing you all the best in your own endeavour as well.

Wooww, we live in modern days with all technology, and we can put it to use in a positive way! The Bible history is fachinating, we can see many prophecies fulfilled in the past and that strengthens our faith in that our day´s events, that we see fulfilling the ancient prophecies, will be completed and we will soon see the New World, a paradise with heavenly government taking over the earth. You can download a lot of information and even dramas on jw.org. I have subscribed to the magazines to my Gmail box and can listen to them when I want! Wish you happy reading..

I am reading Genesis now and the great stories there - Abraham became God´s friend and he got so many blessings. What an interesting life, but maybe it wasn´t easy to leave his hometown and live in tents to be a part of God´s plan. What exactly is Torah, is it the first books in the Bible, or just the Law of Moses?

I made a goal last year of reading the Bible daily and going through the entire text. Unfortunately, it's been a tragic and tumultuous year for me and my family and my good intentions were overwhelmed. However, ironically to some, my faith was reinforced and strengthened through all this sorrow and adversity. Thus, I will not lose site of that goal in 2012! I have a study guide that will take me through the Bible, just a few minutes a day, and it is here on my desk and ready. I may even start it later today. God bless you in 2012!

None of us can avoid sorrow or other problems, as we live in an imperfect world, but it is great that you have gone throug it with stronger faith. I´m sure God will help you to reach the goal of reading the Holy Scriptures. He can read our hearts and appreciates our sincere wish to learn from Him. It is good to have a schedule so we know how much we can read in a week to be able, if possible, read the whole Bible in a year. - But even one chapter a day would be fine! I like to listen to the Bible - so I go to jw.org and download the books there. It is really enjoyabe to listen to the good readers.. May God bless you too in 2012 and the years to come!

Yes, the Bible there is an interesting translation and is very accurate as it follows the original languages. New World Translation is among the nine translations that Jason BeDuhn compares with the original Greek in his book. http://onlytruegod.org/defense/beduhn_truth.in.translation.book.htm You can find the NW translation in written form on watchtower.org. Happy reading..

Although I try to avoid the Jehovah's Witnesses at all costs, that looks like a good site to hear the Word. I will try it later, thank you!

Hi, winterose! I am sure you will benefit from the reading, and if you want to listen, you can download the Bible books one at a time. I use jw.org, as the NW Translation is very accurate, following the original languages. Happy reading..

I've heard very awesome things about the Messianic Jewish Bible. Thanks for the reminder, I think I will ask for one for my birthday.

My favourite is the New King James version and the Complete Jewish Bible, which is a Messianic Jewish Bible. (I'm a Messianic Jew but we also believe in the basic salvation message of our Messiah, the precious Lord Jesus.) I am told the English Standard Version is also a good translation.

Yes, I am going through the Bible this year. I am looking forward to new insights and a much deeper relationship with My God, Jesus. It's already been a wonderful journey so early into this new year. And it's certainly encouraging to see so many MyLotters committed to this.

Hi, gtargirl It´s really great that so many read the Bible. It gives a lot of wisdom and encouragement in the time we live in. The Apostle Paul wrote that the Father of Jesus wants "all men to be saved, and to come to the full knowledge of the truth" 1 Timothy 2:4 (Young's Literal Translation) We always find something new there and when we learn more, we can apply it in our life and benefit even more.. Wish you happy reading..

Not only reading but meditation on what God says.God who is the creator, the savior of all the sinners. He is given the Bible ,to let us know that everything was made by Him and Jesus will be a savior of all.We can find the true salvation in Him,because He is the way to Heaven and not any gods or creations..Acts 4:12,John14:6.

Yeah I do read the Bible I usually focused From New Testament to Revelation. I used the Bible for references for my articles. The Bible is very unique. The Content of the Bible is very useful and informative, it tackles about our life, experiences, events today and the future comes. I slowly understand on what the Bib,e trying to do with me. When there are times I feel weak I read the Bible to gives me strength. Our relationship is very important we need to communicate in daily basis to keep us from sinning and avoid as much as possible to commit it again.

Yes, the Bible was written for us all and those who read it regularly get to know God who created us and knows us better than anyone else.. Why not try to read or listen to the whole Bible. It helps to listen, as you can do it when you do other things that don´t need much attention. I often listen when I prepare a meal and eat. The ears are free, so why not use them..?? I guess you can download the translation you like to listen to from the net. I prefer to listen to the translation I find in jw.org as it is the most accurate and you can choose from many languages. Happy reading and listening..

Well, you have still one more day left before 2012 starts! We are all going to need this spiritual strengthening food. In 2010 I started the reading in July, and thanks to loading the Bible books from jw.org, I managed to listen to the whole Bible until end of December. This year has been easier, and we need to take some time to meditate what we have listened or read, so that it goes to our heart. If you only read one chapter a day, it will take about five minutes..Wanna try?? But it will be hard to stop reading when you once started!

That is one of my projects for 2012 which means that I will read about 30 pages a week. Some days I will read more than others but I will try to read at least a chapter every day. I was reminded recently by a friend that if I don't read the Bible every day I will never be the spiritual person that I could be. Wise counsel indeed!

A really wise counsel! Thank you for encouraging me to read the Bible regularly - it was 1½ year ago - it has given so much - some books I listen to twice and am now reading the letters of Paul. They have so much wisdom and we need to be reminded of it often.

That sounds great! And welcome to myLot! I hope we will later read what you have learned. There is so much wisdom in the Bible, so we need to read it many times. I also like to listen and then I go to jw.org and download the chapter I want to read. Now I have almost all the Hebrew scriptures in a memory stick. It is good to use the technology sometimes!
