As we are aware, we sometimes get bored to celebrate new year in the same mode years after years. We usually going to watch the fireworks at downtown and spend most of times with crowd of people. I have experienced to spend the new years eve in serenity and calm situation . We went to the beach and stay a night there and waiting the first sun rise, we used to came at dawn time to edge of the beach. I saw many people are also doing same thing. They prepared simple picnic stuffs and laying down at the beach sands. If we have limited budget then maybe we just can visit the nearest beach in our town if we lived nearby beach..I found it really exciting experienced to do on new year..
How about you? Have you experienced same activity? How do you fell about this experience?

I've actually experienced this!
I grew up in a small town near a beach. Although as a family, we don't necessarily celebrate it on the beach, I've had the chance to do it once.
That was when I was still in university, and just go home during the holidays. My small town is half way around the world now, so I've not done this recently. But I agree that it is a good way to meet the new year!

Well, I think you were lucky guy to live nearby beach.. I always had a dream to live on the side of the seashore and enjoy every moment there..I think the new year party is really good occasion to closer our family.. At least we have good option when we are willing to spend a day vacation or even for only one night party during new year celebration..It always great to have family close with us and having fun with them and remember every moment and share what we are doing during a year is always a wonderful moment..
Appreciate your response and happy new year

Now that is what I have been planning for the past 5 new years. hahaha... It would be amazing to celebrate New Year in a different way. Staying at the beach and watch the first sunrise of the year would be spectacular. Though no one here in our household share the same sentiment as I do. hehehe...

Well, you have good points my friend.. sometimes not easy to be the only one who has sentimental feelings..haha.. I also experience that feeling when I was still lived with my parents. My brother choose to take a sleep during new years celebration, can’ t you imagine that..while everyone busy to celebrate he is snoring and enjoy his sleeping..However, someday he was tried to enjoyed the celebration when our family went to downtown to enjoyed fireworks..what he did is just sleeping inside car while everybody jumping and screaming…haha…that was my brother but I still love him though.
Have a nice day and happy new year my friend.

I've heard of a bunch of guys that every year go to the furthest eastern point in the U.S., on the coast of Maine, to see the sun rise on New Years Day.
I'm not that interested in seeing the sun rise on a NORMAL morning, much less on New Year's Day, so I think I'll take a pass. Besides, I'd have to drive about 4 hours to get to the nearest seashore...

Well, I think 4 hours drive to nearest seashore is quiet long time, maybe it will take longer hours due to traffic if everybody also has same destination to go there. I have watched on television about the furthest eastern point in US, on coast of Maine, that was really great view and panoramic.. I think many people will enjoy and having unforgettable experienced there..have a nice new year celebration and happy new year..

In 2005 I spent New Year's Eve by the beach looking across to the fireworks happening in Wales across the water. Shortly after midnight I came home because it is windy and cold out in the darkness. You see New Year is a winter event in my home country.
Staying on the beach to see the sunrise on New Year's Day is a lovely idea in a warmer climate. It is an excellent idea for someone with a limited budget and it is an exciting way to see the new year in. These days I stay in on New Year's Eve due to my kids being in bed.

That sounds like a great way to spend new years day! They do have activities at the beach here BUT mind you the temps are not pleasant and typically cold w/ snow on the ground. I don't think I'd ever want to partake in taking the new years day plunge into a very cold lake Michigan with the Polar Bear club.

Well, that was also great.. I wish you can enjoy every moment there..I have spent many times with my friends to enjoy fireworks right at the downtown or city centre..However, the best thing we can enjoy man made beauty is sometimes not comparable with something natural..So we must try to enjoy new year changing moment on serenade place like a beach..however, enjoy and happy new year my friend.

That's a great idea! I wish I could but we live too far. We did get to spend a week at the beach over Christmas though and that was wonderful!!
