The new Year is never without the notion of 'suwerte' or luck which many people try to court into lives by lightning fireworks and doing traditions like assembling 12 or 13 kinds of fruits, wearing a particualr pattern of dress or preparing some materials to attract that elusive luck and maintain it throughout the year.
Everyone of us wants luck in our aspect of life. However, I think that we all have different notion of what luck is. So, hours before the New Year what do you consider luck and how do you intent to get it? What do you think is your lucky charm?

I think luck is depend on the person. If he/she is good or bad person. If you are a good person and you are working hard you can have your luck but if you not good person you can have a bad luck but sometimes i also wear lucky charms like bracelets and necklace.

Also thanks for sharing. It comes down to what you are and what you attract. It is logical in soem way and perhaps, true in many circumstances.

Most people around me when I was growing up, believed in luck. That kind of mindset in your surroundings will, in some ways, influence you. But not for me anymore. I believe that if you find favor in God's eyes by being a God-fearing and God-loving person, He will give you "blessings", which should not be mistaken as luck.

Almost the same perspective as the response above. But your situation is interesting since you did mention that you grew up believing in luck rather than in blessings.

Actually i don't use the word lucky.. i am using bless. there is no luck when God blesses you. if the Lord open the doors for you no one can shut it down and that is what you called Godly favor. No man can promote you unless the Lord permits it.
Almost time to change the calendar but the faithfulness of the Lord never ceases and changed. It is steadfast.

...It's good perspective., I guess some of us are so wrapped in tradition that sometimes we forget that God also blesses us in spite of what we are doing in this lifetime. and sometimes, blessings come not just into the New Year or Christmas but everyday.
