Did anyone hear about "akash" tablet?

I heard about a tablet called " akash" which costs just 2000rs ..ie, 40dollars ..anybody heard bout it? if yes..plz tel me if its good

Yeah akash is an extremely cheap tablet that was brought out(out of stock;stopped production)by the Indian government along with datawind...it was aimed at the college students...It benefited them as you can see from the news reports in the country...
They are gonna bring out a commercial version ubislate 7 with even cool features...
This is an upgraded version of the old thing and can be kind of compared to the big tabs out there...it costs around 56$(at time of conversion) and can be ordered online....

production of akash tab stopped? it didnt even release right? lol. ubislate? where can i buy it from? what about its quality..is it any good?

Yeah they already distributed the tablets to iit students...10k of them...
ubislate is gonna release by the end of this month and you can go online to it official website and register ...they will call for confirmation and you can buy it with COD...
Its quality is extremely good as you can hear from the people who already purchased akash...I am waiting for ubislate...

to iit students? how much is it gonna cost? and can you tell me the site name?
yeah its screen is told to be long lasting ...
for this low cost, ubislate is worth it

yeah...but tata nano was a failure. its cost has been increased to 2 and half lakhs.
also a mylotter friend of mine told akash tablets have stopped their production, which i think was a pretty sad sorry as people like me are knowing about it only now...
hope they restart their production.
oh no...people here are very nice.

A tablet that costo only 40 dollars? Wow!
I heard this news time ago when someone says that in the schools they make this tablet at low cost... But i don't know if someone can buy it and where it will be sell.
