In what is a huge upset, Man United fell to Blackburn 2-3 despite a brace of goals from the in form striker Dimitar Berbatov. Yakubu scored two goals to put Blackburn 2-0 up, but then Man United fought back to level the scores and threatened to win the match and go atop EPL. But Grant Hanley spoiled the b'day party of Sir Alex by scoring the winner late to give Blackburn a vital away win.
This loss for Man U means that Man City end the year at the number 1 position in the league.
Cheers!

Well, that was a big surprise at the end of the year from blackburn. I could not imagine, that was just fairy tale from blackburn, the bottom of table team able to crushed top position team..
However, I have seen their great performance when they held Liverpool draw 1-1 by last week. It was a great momentum for blackburn, like King Kenny said Blackburn is strong club but only unlucky since many players are injured.
This remind me when they won Premier League title by beat United at late 90's. It was duo SAS, Shearer and Sutton who able to score many goals and dominated United at that moment..congrats Blackburn, hopefully they able to save from degradation as well..

I wonder what those Blackburn fans who demanded Kean's resignation are saying now. Who can manage a team like blackburn to draw 1-1 away to Liverpool and win 3-2 away to Manchester United? What if they go on to to win their next 2 matches at home to both Stoke and Fulham? If they do they will be in mid-table and they may even be capable of challenging a place in Europe! Will the Blackburn fans be chanting "King Kean King Kean we love you"?

I am the fan of MUFC, and support them whole heartedly. But I'm also a realistic. From what I see, this is the year of City to win the league. This will happened if 1) MUFC still maintain their current form, 2) The injury problem remained for entire season. But, I really hope MUFC can retain their title. Kudos

For me, the defence line in squad is good enough. It just the injury problem that make the crisis now. But I would prefer Sir Alex to find a new midfield player, that can create creativity and balance in the team. Maybe player like Sneijder, Modric or Hazard can do that.

I think without Vidic and Ferdinand they are really shaky at the back. That is why the results of the last few weeks was really remarkable as sides failed to put enough pressure on the back four of United. If they had done that, they could have really hurt United.
Cheers!

This was a result I didn't expect. But I think that the English FA should think again when not leaving this period without games. Football players are all humans and they need to spend this time of the year celebrating, with their families or with their friends. It is hard to concentrate on football in this circumstances.

Yes, it is good for fans who want to see football during the holidays. But you see, the players who are active in the EPL don't really make a lot of good work during international competitions in summer, as they are exhausted.

Indeed this is a huge upset. No one would have expected Man Utd to lose to Blackburn at Old Trafford. When Berbatov scored twice to equal the score, one would have expected the Red Devils to put this game into their catalog of remarkable comebacks and go on to win the game. But Hanley had other ideas. With the January transfer window now opened, Ferguson has got to make a decision. It is very clear that the midfield need strengthening. Unless he do something about it, their "noisy" neighbour will be even more noisier come May.

Yes, you are right. The Man United of the old would have won the match after leveling it at 2-2. But this side has a frailty at the back that tends to get exposed by players running at them. Yesterday Yakubu did a fantastic job of that and really hurt United.
Cheers!
