In South India mostly gents wear Dhoties and Shirts, ladies always prefer Sarees but in north India usually gents dont wear dhoties but they prefer sherwani and other dresses.Ladies wear sarees but in different style.Nowadays teens wear jeans, tops and shirts they started following western type of dresses.

Our culture is mostly influenced by western culture so most of the time traditional clothes are worn during special occasions.

casual wear in our country are pants, shorts, skirts, t-shirts, blouses and polo's just like Americans do. That is how I can describe our way of clothing and our traditional clothes are "barong" for men and "kimona and saya" for women

In my country, the Philippines, we are quite westernized in our manner of clothing. It is more convenient for most of us to wear jeans and shirts rather than the cultural attire worn generations ago. We have many traditional costumes that have been re styled and re designed to complement with the more modern needs for comfort and convenience. The traditional costumes are reserved for more important celebrations and occasions rather than for everyday wear. This can be quite expensive for the ordinary individual, hence for economic reasons, we have turned to the more affordable clothes that are mass produced.

Dress is for our convient only but we dont lose her our traditional costume in future.if your forgot, then next generation dont know this costume and activities that we celebrate in year. the regular wearing clothes are total different for tradition because people are working and involving different activities day by day. So they prefered comfortable cloth for climate and environment based.

Hey Murali, I agreed that our traditional clothes are dhoties and sarees. The clothes is same, but the style of wearing is different as they like. Now a days, This type of clothes are said to be old fashion, youngster are prefered only western type dress, because only reason is western culture is adopted by our nation people. So, every one likes that culture and style of western country.why because western country people are treated everyone as same friendly manner. So, Youngster are attracted by Modern and western culture. But Everyone has remember one thing if ignored your traditional activity then no one like u. Our Indian differentiate by way of culture and other traditional activities only.SO, THis is my option for the culture and dress sense...
