Every New Years my family eats black eyed peas. It is supposed to bring you good luck for the New Year. My coworker says her family leave coins outside the front door and that is supposed to bring good luck and prosperity. So what is your family's tradition and why?

haha my family's traditions are to say everybody "Happy New Year", to create a tree, to prepare presents to my family, friends, to decorate a house, to listen to traditional songs (like jingle bells, silent night and so on...), to have fun, to make a wish xDD
P.S. Happy New Year:)

Happy New Year Victoria. We do all of the things you mentioned but for Christmas. The black eyed peas thing is specifically for New Years.

My wallet wishes I would celebrate Christmas later because all of the best deals are after Christmas. Hhmm maybe I should start that tradition in my family. :) But I did learn something new today from a FB friend whose family eats black eyed peas, cabbage and greens for New Years. She says the cabbage is for wealth, the greens for good health and of course the black eyed peas for good luck throughout the year. It just makes me wonder how we come up with this stuff. lol
