Do you drink a lot on new year's eve?

I usually go out with friends on new year's eve and we are going out today too.. Sometimes a guy gets drink like hell and we gotta call the police.. I don't understand why people get drunk as hell on new year's eve? What's the special think? That you won't remember the end of the year and start the new year in a hospital? What do you think about drinking a lot on new year's eve?

I can't drink tonight because I am on medication. So, I will fix myself a hot chocolate instead. But, I was thinking. Why do we need it? There is no reason why it has to be celebrated with drinking and partying. I feel the change. But to me, New Years Day is just like any other day.

I feel just the same way about drinking, but.. for me, New Years day is special. I feel how everyone is happy about the incoming parties, family dinners... I love celebrations.
P.S. As in my country, Bulgaria, the new year began 27 minutes ago, I wanna wish myLot and all of the members a happy and enjoyable new year.
