I've been looking for some movies to watch on Netflix. I have found a few that look interesting, but sometimes it is hard to navigate and search for good movies on the website or via my Wii. Do you know of any good steaming movies that are available on Netflix? I also enjoy watching the Television episodes, so if you know of any good shows on Netflix then please share them too!

Finally, someone who is using netflix. I am considering getting it this year because I am getting real tired of reruns and all the dumb shows they are coming up with lately. And, please, why in the world would you run the same show two or more times a day and several days in a row. Anyway, are you finding enough good movies to make it worth what you are paying? How do you get the movies to your TV? Is there anything else you think I need to know?

Thanks so much for this information. It really sounds like you know a lot about this information age and the gadgets that run it. I plan to move a little further into the 21st century this year. I use a computer a lot. All of the work I do is assigned and reported via the computer. I am trying to figure out a faster way to do the reporting than wait until I get home to put all the reports in. I have been considering a tablet but I'm not sure which one or if it will do what I am imagining I want it to.

Actually, the $8/month plan only includes unlimited streaming video. All of the more expensive plans include DVD's by mail too, and the price depends on how many DVD's you can have out at a time. You don't have to have a Blu-Ray player to stream videos from Netflix. I watch them on my Nintendo Wii or sometimes on my computer. My best friend uses her PS3 for it. There are a lot of devices that are compatible with Netflix's streaming service. I think I could even watch on my iPod Touch if I wanted to. Netflix don't have every series that's been shown. The ones they have available depend on licensing agreements with the companies that own the rights to the shows. You should be able to take a look at their selection of instant videos and DVD's by going here: http://www.netflix.com/BrowseSelection I really agree with Robswife2006. It's a great value. I stream some shows for my daughter, and paying the monthly fee is much less expensive than buying the DVD's for her would be.

Yes it is definitely worth what you pay for Netflix. They have a huge selection of both TV shows & movies to either rent or watch on instant play. Now with instant play you can either watch the TV or movies through your Blu-ray player as long as it Netflix enabled which you should know if it is or isn't because every time you turn on your Blu-ray player you will see the Netflix symbol on your TV screen. Once you have an account with Netflix turn on your Blu-ray player & then press the button that will take you to your Netflix account. You will have to sign on the first time you use it, but not every time you turn on your Netflix. Now once you have added movies or TV programs to your Netflix list that you want to watch you just scroll through them on your Blu-ray player & select the one you want to watch & that's it. They have a number of Netflix plans to choose from the lowest being $7.99 & the most expensive plan being $29.98.

I don't know what kind of things you like to watch, but I'll try to put some variety. Well some of my fave shows to watch on Netflix are Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters. There is also a really good 1 season show called Fear Itself that I really enjoyed. Each episode is a completely different story, each episode is about an hour long. Okay now for some instant movies I really enjoyed: Them ( this is a french movie, subtitled, it's a thriller/suspense movie). Whatever you do, DO NOT watch a trailer or read about this movie AT ALL before you watch it. It will ruin the end surprise. But it is REALLY well done! Another good creepy movie I enjoyed is called Shiver. It's a spanish movie, subtitled. I would also suggest not watching a trailer or reading about this movie, but it wouldn't really ruin too much if you did. Another good, action movie is No Escape. It stars Ray Liotta. I think it is going away from instant soon, maybe tomorrow (the 1st) but they may bring it back again. Another good action/thriller type movie is True Crime, starring Alicia Silverstone and Kevin Dillion. Whatever you do DO NOT watch Donkey Punch, horrible movie!

No problem! let me know how you like them! What kind of movies do you usually enjoy? I'm always watching all kinds of movies. I only have instant viewing with my netflix plan, so I can keep the suggestions coming!

Roadrunner, I think I read somewhere that netflix lost about 1 million subscribers because of a 60% price increase (after a previous price increase). And those members they didn't lose, many went to the cheaper plans (like me). I moved from paying them $9.99 a month to paying them $7.99 a month. So think of all the money they lost due to that horrible, greedy choice. And even after they discovered they have lost money, the guy still refuses to go back to cheaper prices. Poor poor business decision.

Hi Stephcjh, why did you discontinue your Netflix membership? Excuse the direct question but I was just interested.

I have seen a few episodes of Dexter, I might check out all the others too. I have seen the movies you listed. I enjoy almost any type of movie except Horror. It really just all depends on my mood that day. Today I have been watching the show, Accidently on Purpose. I kinda like it.

It just really depends on what kind of TV programs you enjoy watching. Do you enjoy watching Scifi? My husband does so he has all the Star Trek TV shows on our Netflix. I like courtroom dramas, so I enjoy watching all the Law & Order TV series. If you like comedies then there is The Office(the American version) which is hilarious btw & also another TV series called, How I Met Your Mother, which I think is very funny. As for movies they have good action flicks such as Speed starring Keanu Reeves or The Next Three Days starring Russell Crowe, Where the Heart Is starring Natalie Portman, The Others starring Nicole Kidman(excellent movie)Dr. Doolittle starring Eddie Murphy, & one of my personal favorites, Sleeping with the Enemy starring Julia Roberts. There are so many more I could recommend for you to watch, but I think these will get you off to a good start.

What upsets me about Netflix is that their online selection is so limited. And difficult to navigate if you are not on your computer. I usually watch comedies, romances and a few action movies. My son was given Fast Five for Christmas, and I would ahve liked to watch the previous Fast Five movies, but you can't stream them online. I am waiting to see what Netflix plans to do when they lose the Starz Channel, if they don't get more movies streaming or new ones, then Netflix will lose more users than it already has.

I agree, if they lose the Starz Channel then they will probably lose alot of users. They have really had alot of problems with losing customers lately, so losing Starz would definitely put a nother big blow to them.

I don't use Netflix as it's unavailable in my country. There are plenty of quality UK programmes at the moment, someone else mentioned Downton Abby, also if you like detective serials, there's Midsomer Murder which is still going strong, Endeavour (which is a prequal to Inspector Morse). I would also recommend Vera which is based on books by Ann Cleeves. don't know if these are available on Netflix, but if they are then you should enjoy them. I do have a Wii, which I can watch BBC replay (only for UK viewers), which shows programmes up to a week old. I wasn't aware that the Wii was suitable for sites like Netflix, as I've also got TVCatchup (again only available in UK), which contrary to its name shows live 'Freeview' programmes, but doesn't work on the Wii.

Good movie: Go, if you haven't seen it. Katie Holmes, Sarah Polley, Scott Wolf, a lot of others are in it. TV shows, how about Firefly? It was only on for one season, but then they went and did a movie to finish it off. The movie is called Serentiy.

Doesn't the selection of movies and TV shows depend on what country you're in? I watch a lot of anime. One of my favorites: Blood+ is on Netflix. This is about a Japanese schoolgirl. Of course being Japanese, she doesn't look Japanese (I think it turns out that she's from Iceland so ..?), suffers from amnesia, has super powers, fights monsters and is involved with some sort of mega conspiracy involving secret organizations. I've recently watched Food Inc. which makes you really wonder if you're going to wake up one day and discover there's nothing to eat because of government and big corporation corruption and incompetence. I also saw The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. (I really think if Disney loved America, they should do a faithful to the book version of The Horse and His Boy!) We're presently working through Heroes and Merlin and have just started Dexter (trying to find where we left of from cable). Unfortunately they don't seem to have Smallville, Supernatural, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate: Universe, Regenesis, Frisky Dingo, Xaviour Renegade, Bleach or Naruto Shipputen.
