There are many discussions started on Mylot and you're free to choose to answer. But many stay without anyone responding. Which are the discussions that catch your eyes the most? What should newbies keep in mind in order to achieve attention with their discussions?

Please realise the difference between what is a discussion and what is a question with some answers.
This, at the moment, is just a question which we are now answering and is not a discussion because you are not participating by commenting to the responses.
You do not earn anything for what others post. You only earn for your own particpation therefore until you ocmment on the responses you are not earniong for this topic and only when you start commenting will it become a discussion.
"What should newbies keep in mind in order to achieve attention with their discussions?"
Everyone, new and older Lotters, should be aware that active topics are the ones that gain the most attention. When we see a topic where the starter has abandoned and is not commenting back to us, giving us the chance to comment again too, we are likely to avoid it. We would probably not particpate in topics started by that user in the future either.
If you want an active discussion then you must be there too to interact with those who respond.

Happy to help
You will see an enormous difference in the results that you achieve if you remember something very impkrtant: I type, I earn. You type, you earn.
Best wishes to you too and happy Lotting!

I didn't even think about the great differences between the two types, thank you for warning me. I also did not know you don't really earn by leaving a topic alone and just reading. Thank you for this, I appreciate it. Good luck in the future and happy new year!

Hello Diana,
Happy new year.
Yes for newbies it is not easy to understand it but with the time they understand it.More important is that they should understand the guidelines thoroughly and should not start anything which violates the guidelines.

Very true.I can explain this with a simple example.
When we go to the market we see numerous things but there are few eye catching thing toward which we are always attracted at the first place. most of the things are not that much attractive. Also the things which we need attract us. same happens with us in my lot also.
We are attracted towards "happening" topics. the topics which are actually related to our daily life and daily life problems.
I found so many discussions which are meaning less to me then why should i participate in them.

That's true, it's better to reach out to everyone with a question rather than asking a one which only a smaller group of people know or can have information about. Of course, I'm not saying those questions are worthless, I'm saying that from the aspect of money and getting greater income, you should aim at the larger group of people.

Dear friend, I now consider myself almost a veteran of this site. Although there are many users who have much more experience than me. To attract more attention, more so in your comment threads, you should always write actinium in a particular subject with the "manage interest". Rarely, I suggest you write a "general discussion". Then, however, when you are done writing your review, do not forget to put "tags" with words, separated by commas always related to what you wrote, try then let me know.

Yes, I always make sure to go through the whole procedure and add quality keywords and tags which allow others to find my discusson easily and get an idea of what they will find inside. I understand the importance of this, and I never skip this. Good luck in the future, and happy new year!

Hello Tibor,
I love to respond to the discussion which are simple and related to our daily routines/life style as from it i can have some lessons/suggestions from the experienced people over here and can apply it to myself. That's the reason i most of the time like to respond to discussions in the interest category:PEOPLE & LIFE.
In order to find attention of other people try to write something new,real/witty.I think people always respond to those as they have something new and real to write.

I agree with you. Of course people respond to the discussions which they have some experience in and can add something new to it, helping others and extending their knowledge. Happy new year to you!

I think... the questions we have always wanted to ask ourselves and get answers make hot discussion topics...also our not-everyday persnal experiences

That's true, I see discussions about topics like love and family on an hourly basis and they seem to get an unexpectedly huge attention. They're also easier to comment on as everyone can share their own opinion and point of view. They are not just simple questions which can be answered by yes or no, which also makes them attractive. Good luck in the future and happy new year!

I have some discussions too, that got no response at all. Now, I seldom start a discussion, I just post responses to topics I can relay with. Anyway, there are lots to chose from. I think, when starting a topic for discussion, it's best if you start the topic with a query or put a catchy phrase. In that way, it can call attention or start topics within your interests. I hope this helps my friend.

Hi! The discussions that can caught me are those that have connection with me. Sending out your opinions, critiques, suggestion, etc. is really a good thing and I enjoyed it here in mylot plus the benefit of earning. When you are going to start any discussion and you want it to achieve attention just make sure that it is well written and everyone is known to such particular thing. Thank you

Hi Tibor! The discussions that catch my attention are the ones that I feel instantly that I am comfortable to comment on, I know the issue and I can add something meaningful to. I look for discussions that indicate to me instantly that I don't have to weave or prepare a pretentious comment. If I feel I have no interest or knowledge in th topic, I just skip that.
My advice to newbies would be to choose such discussions that trigger a natural and meaningful comment. Don't just jump in and make a vague or me-too kind of comment. They serve no purpose at all-either to readers or to moderators and so, to the posters themselves.
Make sure the comment is specific, legible, interesting and as free from errors as is possible. Of course, myLot doesn't discourage people whose English is not good, so don't instantly worry about it. But you can always learn & improve.
Have a happy & meaningful time at myLot!

What you suggest is kind of logical yet I didn't take notice of it for a long time. I just asked things I didn't know and never thought about others and how they'll be able to respond. Good luck in the future and happy new year!

Discussions that are related to my life catch my eyes and convince me to post responses. My suggestion to newbies is that make your discussions easy to answer and have a good sense. I don't respond on discussions that are nonsense in my own view. Happy new year!
