When the new year comes we are filled with all sorts of hopes and promises. Even with the best intentions, we ofdten falter and do not fulfill the resolutions that we make. What will you be doing differently in 2012 to reach some of the goals that you want?

Try to eat more vegetables is big on my list of things to do differently in the new year. I am pretty good about fruit but not vegetables. I hope to write more so i can make more money in 2012. Would like a nice vacation this year and have to word and do some extra writing to be able to.

When it comes to New Year's Resolutions I say why does it have to be January 1st we wait until we make them, the start of the new year, if we are eager to make changes why not now? why wait until January 1st! I hope some of the people who responded to your discussion will look back, as 2012 is nearly drawing to an end, to see if they have done differently what they set out to at the beginning!

I will apply to grad school. I'll write each day. I'll get paid each month by some site. I will go to the gym. I'll devote myself to poetry more firmly. I'll be a better business record keeper.

One of my goals this year is to not be vulnerable and not to cry. Seriously last year was really dark for me and I felt so weak and i was crying like almost everyday :(( I will be stronger this year and let nothing bring me down. There are some things I wanna achieve this year and I hope I will.
Happy new year!

I believe that this shows a lot of initiative on your part. it shows what a strong person you want to be. When we feel weak and vulnerable we are not as confident in ourselves. It shows great motivation that you want to persevere. Good luck to you in this.

Probably nothing. I don't make resolutions anymore. It seems like when I do they are broken right away.....old habits die hard! The last one I did was quite a while ago. I made the resolution to send everyone a birthday card in my whole family.....and I did stick to it....for several years.

It looks like you put out an all out effort to do your best. you can't blame yourself for not trying. We can get set in our ways. Breaking new ground with new years resolutions might be biting off more than we can chew.

Sometimes i think we are so busy trying to get the last word in or voice our opinions that we forget about the feelings and opinions and concerns of other people. It can often be the hardest thing to be the listener instead of the talker. good luck in your endeavors and thanks for the response.

I like your views on life. sometimes i think we just assume that life will take care of us instead of us taking the control for our lives. determination can often be the key. Thank you for your response.

Hi sender! I am wanting to do more fun things for my 2012. I want to try and live a little more I guess. It seems like all I do is work work work. I want to try and paint more and I would love to maybe write a book. I don't know that I will accomplish the book part but if I get to write more, that will be more fun so it will work out anyway.

Everything in life needs balance. That goes for work and play as well. I hope you get plenty of time to work on your painting and your writing. I hope that all goes well for you this year.

I think that I might step up what I'm already doing just a little bit, perhaps a notch or two. But other than that, I really am pleased with the direction that I am going to go in life. There are really going to be many times where people think they are going to make some ground breaking changes to ring in the new year but really that is not going to happen, because making a New Year's Resolution=epic failure as far as I am concerned.
This year, I am really going to want to step things up, step it up a notch or two to say the very least. That is about it. 2012 will be an extension of the momentum that I had started in 2011. As I keep really keep sustaining momentum from the end of last year, hopefully 2012 is a good one. I hope to be a bit more smarter, a bit more wiser, and have a bit more money.

Thank you for responding. You seem to be very in tune with what you want to do with your life. I think it is a great way to start the new year. When we are happy with our lives, we have a better chance of achieving our dreams and our goals rather than being in despair.

Hi sender
Nothing much different dear. It is simply the same - I live each moment, try to be honest and be myself. The resolutions and me have a history of not going together. I think we were never made for each other.
The only goal that I have since 2012 Dec. is to make at least one person smile per day. And I would be happy if my count (last year it was 198) increased to say 300 or more.
Wishing you a happy and prosperous 2012.

Resolutions are a promise we make. often we don't have the strength or determination to keep them. We might think we are failing if we lose touch with that kind of a promise. If you have a goal in mind, keep working at it because success is just right around the corner. Thanks for the response.

it seems like everyone is so tired now in doing his resolutions that can't follow also after a months, but changing for a better in the beginning of the year was the best time to do. But me i'll probably wanted to finish everything that I started and keep doing it religiously, I had also procrastinating attitude sometimes and I want to get rid of it, but i don't consider it a new year's resolution

As long as your life has some direction, it can be easier to have a positive attitude towards life and what you do. I hope that this coming year helps you in your procrastination and takes you beyond it.

I will be stronger and firm with my decision.
The past years, I know I am still struggling and don't have much foundation to rely on.
But now,I wish this year to become different- yes, to be a stronger me and know what I really want -no second thought-but decide wisely.
Happy New Year!

well in life everything seems to revolve with in my family,,,This coming new year, i'd like to change a little like living independently, making decisions without their consent and trying to be stronger in facing trials in life.I will be more sensitive in every word from my mouth to reduce conflict with co= workers,
