Quitting smoking comes with several frustrating physical and mental symptoms which you should overcome in order to successfully get rid of this bad habbit. I've heard that the nicotine withdrawal symptoms are as terrible as heroin's. Is that seriously true? I think it's just plain exaggaration and it's not as hard to quit as some people say it is.

I don't think it's harder for some people and easier for others. I think it all depends on one's will-power and mental strength. If you are determined enough you will have a bigger change to success than those who are not. However, this is just my opinion.

I think you have hit on it. You have to be ready to quit. You will instinctively know. I have overcome other addictions in my life and I did not do it until something...I can't really explain it or put my finger on any one thing...let me know that I would give it up and never look back.
So far, I haven't gotten that inner message that it's time to quit smoking, so I haven't even tried, because until that epiphany hits me, I just won't have my heart or head into it.

No, the physical withdrawal symptoms of nicotine are not as intense or bad as heroin withdrawal.
Is it hard to quit smoking? I'll let you know when I do it.
