As we all know that new technology has changed everything and improved our life significantly include the way we read, either book, magazine or newspaper. With latest tablet Pc like Ipad or any other OS like android, we have experienced new way to read, just by touch or slide our finger to the tablet screen rather than paper, this way we can save environment by reducing trees cut for papers making.I found it interesting although still has to improve to make it perfect, like some of them are heavy so our will tiring our hand if must hold when reading in long duration, the battery life has also a concern. I am sure it will keep improving in future.
What do you think about this new way to read?
Do tou think it will totally replace paper based?

It is great to have all those things like ipad, and other smart phones. You can carry 10 dictionaries in an ipad. This is absolutely remarkable. Sooner or later this technology will replace paper, I am sure.

Well, you have good points… I also like to collect all of my favorite books and place them in the corner of my house as my personal library.. I know need sometimes to maintain and clean the place but really glad to find my old book there…However, using the softcopy will save the storage and could be use for something useful as well…. appreciate your response..

ouups sorry wrong response.. supposed to be for bjelyn
Well, that was great benefit of the paperless technology.. you can carry everything in your pocket, the limit is only on your storage capacity.. Even with giga bites hardisk capacity, I still end up with full storage on my hardisk..However, really easy to maintain since we just have to select the unnecessary files and push delete button compare with paper based books which we supposed to burn…

In the coming few years, this new way of reading will take over the old paper reading. The new generation will accept this thing easily but it will be difficult for the book lovers to transform.

The new tablets/iPads etc are a practical way to carry a lot of books, it allows for interactive displays and it is lightweight and it reduces the amount of paper and ink used. These are all bonuses, counter is the production of these products, they use dangerous material in particular for the batteries, they also require electricity which means that whereas books can go anywhere these devices are limited to where they can be recharged. They may one day replace paper based reading material, but for the moment, it is unlikely, maybe in a few decades.

Well, you are right.. I forgot to mention about those batteries which really dangerous for environmental as well, even worse than cutting the tree..Maybe there will be many un destroyable electronics waste in the future, just like I saw on the Wall-E movie when the earth start to pile up electronics waste than the tree will become rare to found…The scientist must discover something that really save for our environment or create something to really destroying it 100%.... appreciate your response..

Eventually it does seem like it will sadly replace traditional methods of books. It won't happen for a few decades yet, at least that is my hope. I don't think that I could stand it if actual books disappeared right in my life. There is nothing wrong with e reader technology but there is just something about having the actual book resting my hands that enhances the reading experience.
It just seems so cold and impersonal to really just read on these things. I refuse to let go of my precious books. We can always plant more trees, which is a problem as people don't think to do that. A lot of that technology is costly and not to mention a bit of an eye strain to read and also it just doesn't feel right when reading in bed. So actual hard copy books forever!

nowadays, we have ebooks, internet news and magazine copies through the internet but I still believe that magazines and books will still be available. Technology makes it easier for us to read the latest news and books, however, there are still some people who prefer to have their own book copies.
If you are a book lover, you would love to see all your books in one corner of your house. Right? :)

yes it has but it is strange how some avid book readers don't consider reading with the new technologies is as good or anything the same as reading a hard copy of a book, I guess in time it will all be considered the same, maybe.

well, you are right..maybe time will tell and we will have to read with soft copy as good hard copy.. The best thing about soft copy from those reader we can also doing many things that we never thinking of when using hard copy, like we can do copy and paste, bookmarking or even sending message to our friends directly if we found something interesting to share….appreciate your response..
