Do I have to file a tax return?

I am on accidental dissability retirement from a city and do not pay taxes on my pension. I am buying a house and want to know if I will have to file tax returns now.

I would strongly recommend asking a tax professional in your state. Laws vary from state to state so even if you do not owe federal income taxes, you might owe something in your state.

you are required to file a tax return on all money that you receive. You can change this by asking the government to already tax what you earn so you will not be required at the end of the year to claim your earnings.
