Your home town for a holiday

If I said I wanted to come to your home town for a holiday what would you say are the best things for me to see and where should I chose to make my base to stay. This question arose because very often when talking to people that have visited the same places as me, sometimes more than once I ask if they have been to certain places only to find they haven't been to that part.

I live in the capitol city of boise in a northwest state of Idaho in the US. If you came her by air you might want to stay out by the airport. You would want to see the Mall here and the capitol building where they always have a tree for Christmas. Boise is french for the city of trees and it certainly is. We have many lovely parks and a green belt to walk, ride, or skate on. Lots to do and see.

We call potatoes spuds and I don't know why but we could call you lot spud bashers. They are people that peel spuds.

Hi celticeagle sounds like a wonderful place to spend a holiday. Am I right in thinking that Idaho is known as the state of small farms. Do they have to do much crop dusting by plane in the growing season.

If you really wanna be china for your vacation ,I strongly suggest you two places, one is Wuzhen,Jiaxing City,Zhejiang Provience, which is famous for it most organic water town and bridge and historical bulding .For the other one ,you can go to Yunnan Provience, which is a chinese minoriry nation location ,the organic moutain , culture and pure people .I think these two places are the most ideal places for traveling in china , and you will have the most unforgetable memories there..

lightrain you are very proud of the area in china that you describe and that is my purpose, to see how much people really love the area they live in not necessarily to travel but to get the feeling that they have for their country and community.

My home town is a lovely place to spend a holiday or a vacation. It is a seaside town with miles of yellow sand ideal for children making sand castles. There is a stunning looking pier that is fun in the day and magically lit up in the night time. Sometimes there is a big wheel for sightseeing in the summer season only. There is a small aquarium which children tend to enjoy visiting. I suggest the walk along the sandy beach to the pretty village called Up Hill. A short drive around the coast takes you over to rural looking Sand Bay. It is cold and windy there so take a warm jumper even in the middle of summer. There is a spectacular walk from Sand Bay to Middle Hope and a jut of land going out into the sea. Off the coast are Steep Holm Island and Flat Holm Island. I suggest days out by car or bus to Glastonbury, a new age sort of place and Bath a spa town.

Thanks. I am glad you like my comment. Yes, I am keen on Bristol. I love Brunel's ship. I am happy seeing the special looking bridge in Clifton. I suggest the Victorian Pier at Clevedon and the Lake Grounds at Portishead.

Come on maximax you know it's called the Clifton suspension bridge and also you may not know that it was not made to go in that position and the towers were built to make it fit. Must agree with your other suggestions and now at the dockside Bristol you can sample international food in the largest restaurant in Britain seating 1000 at any one time in the ZA ZA BAZAAR.

Hello, well I would definitely be happy to have a friend visit my hometown. I am proud of the wonderful sceneries you can see in my country/hometown. You will see forests, mountains, wonderful beaches, native animals, etc.
