I was just shocked by reading news of Human Sacrifice in India, WTF is this, are they human. Do they have heart to kill a seven year Old girl, this is the way to start a new year.
Human sacrifices occasionally make headlines in deeply religious and superstitious India, and usually occur in poor areas where some people revere practitioners of black magic.
Two suspected child sacrifices were reported in Chhattisgarh in 2010, while in the same year the decapitated body of a factory worker was found in a temple in the eastern state of West Bengal.
The victims are often ritually killed by witchdoctors to appease gods, spirits or deities.
A seven-year-old Indian girl was murdered in a tribal sacrifice and her liver offered to the gods to improve crop growth, police in the central state of Chhattisgarh said on Sunday.
The body of Lalita Tati was found in October one week after her family reported her missing.
“A seven-year-old girl was sacrificed by two persons superstitiously believing that the act would give a better harvest,” Narayan Das, the police chief of Bijapur district, told AFP by telephone.
The two men were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of killing the girl and offering her liver to the gods in a grisly tribal ceremony. Police said the men had confessed to the crime.
The girl was murdered in a jungle district of Chhattisgarh that is a stronghold of rebel Maoists who have tapped into disaffection among local tribal groups.
The victims are often ritually killed by witchdoctors to appease gods, spirits or deities. Does God need this? Is this a way to please him, does any other religion allow this kind of barbarism?

Its freaking creepy and pathetic. I know every country and every religion has it's belief for what they say to welcome a good year, for better harvest, for protection from disasters but killing for sacrifice is not right and majority of the world's population for sure are against of this crime, f*ck those people with no mercy killing/sacrificing an innocent girl or whoever they killed.
I am a roman catholic and only believe in deep prayers.

Human are oomplex creatures. One moment they are absolutely rational, another moment they aren't. I guess I am quite immune to these kind of stories.
Like many people, it sometimes baffled that these kinds of actions still persists. However, tradition is something that is hard to break, especially in cultures that are not urbanized or in the process of being one. Others retain their culture due to little or no foreign influence. People in these cultures actually believe that they done nothing wrong even though they know that some changes and measures are already in place. They simply ignore something that they feel is against their belief and go on as if nothing happened. They feel they are justified. However, where is justice for the victims, in this case the girl who doesn't want to be sacrificed?
Personally, I don't think God or any deity is pleased with offering of blood, and in extension, life. He gave life and He knows exactly how precious and miraculous it is. It is not pleasing God, it's an excuse to spill blood in the name of God or an attempt to know God. There are many ways to please God, I doubt and in my personal opinion, killing a perosn is one of them.

The God of heaven and earth prohibits human sacrifice. In the USA, it is considered one of the vilest type of murder.

This will not going to please God but this will mad Him feel Angry instead. God not created us to be killed and presented to Him. That is ridiculous. If they really 'believe' that it will please the God they should choose their ownself instead of other people. Those people are stupid enough to believe it that way. They are murdered committing a murder to other people. They should be given a heavy sentence due to what the have done.

It is a terrible thing but this sort of thing happens all over the world including The Unites States. Not a lot mind you but when it does happen, it is so shocking that it makes world news.
There are a lot of sick people out there and a lot of bad people. What more can I tell you?
It was not that long ago in Western Europe that Jewish children were sent to ovens because they were Jewish. In The United States, children of African descent were forced to ride at the back of the bus and use separate bathrooms solely based on the color of their skin. Nothing more.
Where is man's humanity to man? I do not know.

This is very sad. I know so little about India that I dare not comment. Why? Strange?
I will answer the question in reference about God however, in that no, God does not need nor ask for, nor demand nor suggest that human life be removed for any kind of appeasement. Religion is a strange breed, an invention of man not God and many misconceptions have been created because of religion. Something is needed to educate what is with the will of God and what is not. That was not.
It is my belief the girl is now comforted and happy with God.

I Am with you Bluedoll what you say is very true...that is why today I do not believe in any religion...they have cheated on all they believers and never deliver "the truth" what ever that may be...I Am 66 years old and I do believe in my God and my Angels but in religion no more.

Alottodo, et. al.: Your non-belief in religion is not surprising, and I blame all false religions on this planet for that. However, I plead that before you turn away totally from such belief please ensure that you have scrutinized the teachings of every religion on this planet.
I challenge you to experience true Christian living inside the Church of God International... http://www.angdatingdaan.org/en/

Hi saqi, I am surprised some didn't ask for a link to this, but I am not surprised. Some people have no respect for human life and it is very sad. I don't have a link, but in some cults, some women give birth just so they would have a sacrifice..

This is really sad and a desperate act.
This is not happening in India lone.
I've seen a video from news also where kids are being offered as sacrifice and buried alive.

Primitive tribes believed that they must give something precious to gods(which is human life, of course),to get something in return. When people grow up with these beliefs, they keep practicing ritual killings. What is the solution?Educate people. They have false knowledge.

Actually, this is a good picture of what humanity is capable of - parents killing their own children. God clearly explains the sin nature that resides in all people. Fortunately, God does not allow us all to reach that level of depravity (at least in our actions). However, many people do. Abortion is nothing but sacrificing the life of a child to the god convenience. Look how comfortable society is with those sacrificed babies!

Hello saqi78,
Its terrible and i know it happens in INDIA where people are superstitious and have beliefs that they can please God through human/animal sacrifices.I am an INDIAN and have read so many cases here like this which really upsets me and have a feeling in my self how someone can think of making God happy by killing someone.

This is really disgusting!I just find no reason to kill anyone for good harvest. This is how superstitions destroy lives. That is why I don't belive in superstitions.Holy god.The one they are praising isn't a god if it demands life for some stuff.Any god that lover to kill isn't worth praising.I know many gods who are like that. That is the main reason why I cannot belive in Him.

Ofcourse it is cruel a seven years old child who has been offered to god, but keep in mind that many years ago we did this also. In the old roman empire or even the greek time we offered people and other things to god to please them. I know this sounds hard, but it has been in our bodies for centuries! I know that the belief in god in India huge is! But a sacrifice is hard, but maybe it is normal in there belief in god. Sometimes they offer animals and you hear nothing about it. Does those animals doesn't got any respect or something. Always see this stories from two sides.

Wow! This is a very sensitive issue. It is a matter of belief.I don't know much about this, is it a tribe? I am a little bit confused with you question about if God Need this, Of course not!Its just its their belief and maybe there is no sector has the guts to interfere or stop them from doing this kind of rituals. Maybe they are doing these for generation already and for them, it a natural act.Hope that this barbaric act be stopped as soon as possible so future victims will be saved.

None of the big five religions have a ritual of this type of human sacrifice. Religion can make people do all sorts of things, good or bad. It should be no suprise. Even the world leading country, America has had Jonestown Massacre. In rural areas of the world, there are many of such crimes commited. Atleast in this case, the authority seeked justice and the suspects were arrested. It shows that they care and this sort of crime against humanity won't be tolerated.
