Pregnant with diabetes

I am pregnant with my second child, this pregnancy has been a little bit harder because of my diabetes, it has been impossible to control this time. I was at the hospital for a week about two months ago, and they gave me a diet to follow, but I've kept doing it and but it hasn't hep. Then I decided to make a change in my diet, Im only eating protein(meat or chicken) and vegetables, this has helped a lot but I still have ups and downs. Don't know what else to do.
