Just received the 4th email notification that my answer was deleted

This is strange but 4 of my answers were supposedly deleted because the question that I answered was deleted. How does a question become deleted? It seemed harmless when I posted a reply. It didn't have any adult content. The question was not something out of the ordinary. Just some fun question.

This happens lol. It is the administrator who decides and deletes those discussions who violate the guidelines.. Best of luck. Happy posting, cheers. Kalyani

Like what the other mylotters had written here- the discussion was deleted due to "guideline violation/s" Avoid responding to topic/s that seems like asking question that will create a "poll question" like favorite color and the likes. Sometimes the topic also is on wrong category that is why it is deleted. You will get to know the topics that are likely to be deleted... keep mylotting...it does happen and we cannot avoid it.

hi jaiho just a gentle thing, not we are not deleted for being in the wrong category I often put mydiscussion in mylot simply]because it gets more reader even if it should be on some other interest.we do not get our discussions deleted for being in a wrong category if they did that about 99 percent of all discussions wou ld be deleted.also most of it can be avoided if we all just read the blasted guidelines, why is that such a hard'concept for people to grasp, guidelines are there to g uide us duh not brain surgeryl read them everyone .

Hi yahnee, I have encounter the same since it is a common trend here. LOL! As far as I know a posts deleted by admin are those post who violated mylot rules. And some duplication "got similar topic to fellow mylotters". You should always check the FAQ and mylot rules for some reference and clarification. ^_^

READ THE GUIDELINE READ ALL OF THE DOS AND DONTS OF DISCUSSIONS how many times do we older ones have to tell all of you that the information on don'ts of discussions is all in the GUIDELINES. I am emphasizing those words as a lot of people still do not get it that guidelines means they are guiding you in what not to put in your discussions.adult content is not even in the guidellines go read them yahnee now before posting anything more. know what the hell you are doing.

okay so you think I am annoyed no just puzzled as those guidelines are sort of instructions on how to use mylot to have fun and enjoy yourself,is it wrong of me to suggest you read the guidelines: instead of writing out all the dos and donts that wou ld take me several hours to do , then you would not want to read them because' the discussion wou ld be so long. if you just read them you would get the information straight from the source. I am sorry if you have taken me the wrong way but you did not even give me a chance. you judged me without knowing one thing about me at all. I feel that reading the guidelines is a positive thing not negative at all. then once having read them question us on specifics and we will all try to help. but I cannot type that whole thing out for anyone,I am not physically able to type that long at a time.

Hatley, I think the problem is that you WILL have to repeat this over and over. It's not that no one hears you or doesn't appreciate but rather that there are constantly new members coming in that will miss this and previous discussions on this. I don't think you are repeating yourself to the same sets of ears.

And sometimes it is hard to tell for sure which discussions will get deleted and which won't. It happens. The guidelines are there but none of us are above forgetting them or "thinking" something is ok when it really isn't. I think even if new people read them, it is a lot to remember and it's trial and error. Heck even us that have been here a long while,we still mess up. Its all about the learning. So ya...that advice about the guidelines will have to get repeated as long as mylot exists.

hi, yahnee, it's something normal which did by mylot admin. it's not matter of your response, but the discussion you answer may contain duplication with other discussion and that's why the discussion and all the response will be deleted.so, best thing to do is avoid to response similar discussion or discussion which may just content duplicate content and even started as one.use our original idea, even for simple thing is better than make some duplicate

I also encountered them. I have no idea too of how one post is possible to be deleted. I answer questions or discussion because I am interested in it.

READ THE GUIELINES AS THE DONTS OF DISCUSSIONS IS ALL THERE. why do you think the mylot admins put up the guideline? do you even bother to read the dos and don'ts of making discussions. you would know how a post is possible to be deleted if you had read the guidelines.Your interest in it is not the point, the' point is does this discussion break a don't in the guidelines?read and reread as all the rules are there.

The discussions were deleted because they were against the Guidelines. Your description of them as "just some fun question" suggests that they may have been 'poll type' questions or possibly a duplicate topic. To avoid having your responses deleted, get to know the Guidelines well so that you can identify which discussions are likely to be deleted and avoid those kinds of discussion. Remember that MyLot exists to encourage good quality discussions, not simple questions which can be answered in just a few words and don't encourage discussion.

I am just about to say the same thing.. please follow owlwings advice to read the guidelines it seems that you don't have clear and enough idea about what is and what is not allowed in mylot. Just because a discussion is "harmless?" and does not contain "adult content" means it is allowed in mylot there are many things to consider, so better read the guidelines to know more about it if you want to avoid your response/comment getting deleted because of other member's violation. It is really useful to read the Guidelines and FAQs.

may be somebody reported it... there are just people out here that have different taste... they think that some response are harmful. may be it's a culture thing i think...

Whether a discussion is reported or not makes no difference. Posts are only deleted by Admin and because they specifically violate the rules set out in the Guidelines and Terms.
