Mcgrath predicts Australia will rout India 4 - 0

We know that Mcgrath has a tremendous record in test cricket with 563 wickets in 124 matches. But now he has predicted that Australia will win the ongoing series with 4 - 0 I am sure Indian team will not let that happen. But if I see the condition od Indian team i can see some truthfulness in his statement. As of now India is on 96/5 in 33 overs. Virat Kohli just went to take shower. I don't know what's going to happen.

If you see the present situation, Mcgrath told the right things. He told as its a part of cricket politics. Its nothing serious and its usually happen. But we cant say like this as cricket result can change any time. Its a matter of 10 good deliveries to destroy any batting line up. As Australia is in commanding condition, but next day if bowler bowl well and anything can happen. As we saw Australia was bowled out only for 41 in last series against South Africa. All the best to India.

You are very true. See this is the thing, players like McGrath contribute to their team even after retiring with their mind games against the opposition. But there is some truthfulness in his prediction. If the Indian team keeps performing like this then they will be eroded very soon.

Hope it will not true as India got a lot of batting masters there. 2nd Innings is still there and there is also very good chance to overcome it and for any south asian team its very hard to play in Australian condition as the pitches are fast and bouncy. So its also happening for India and hope they would recover it in 3rd test from the very be-gaining.

The bugger! First he gets both teams to wear pink caps & then he forecasts results! I think the local weather bulletin has a better chance of being correct than this guy. He makes a few big assumptions here about if our bowlers will hold up & other conditions that constantly change. India has a lot of support over here & not just from the Swarmi Army. I'm not sure if McGrath openly went out & gave a public forecast or if he was pressured by the media. It's not looking good for India, I must admit, but still - anything can happen!

Yup. But the way they surrendered today is unacceptable. I am an Indian so I dont know much about McGrath personally. But he has a huge fan following down here in India. Even i like him too much. I think even this match has slipped out of Indian team's fist.

I hope we get to see some good cricket from Team India & soon. I don't know if it's the batting, the bowling or if the team just are not travelling well. India do really well on their home soil. Maybe it's our fault - the curry we're feeding them just isn't hot enough down here!

McGrath has a right to express his views too. One cannot fault his opinion after seeing Indian batting performance in the first test. Australian batting is no better, but Indian bowlers have not bowled at the right areas consistently. personally, 4-0 seems too far fetched. If only Gauti or Dravid can hold one end up...."IF"

See although you both are saying that Indian bowlers are not bowling that well, But what about the batsmen? In my opinion wherever we are now in this series, the batsmen are the bigger culprit in the comparison of bowlers.

Hi Predictions in cricket never work. I mean we can do that but cricket is the game in which results can be go to any side. So there is no need to go for such predictions. Indian is not the weak team. And they can bounce back in the series any time. Who knows in this match too. Australia better don't underestimate Indian team.

Yes, Surely Australian players are good in mind games. But I don't think such words will work on Indian team any how.. They will just effect the Indian viewers.

Lets hope so that Indian warriors will perform the way we are expecting them to. As of now this ongoing match is going in the fist of Australian side. If Indian bowlers can restrict them under 200 (which is highly unlikely) then Indians will bounce back in the game.

In many previous discussions here, projecting India's first series winning chances in this Australian tour, I have indicated that advantages of Australian bowlers on their ground and lack of consistency of Indian bowling line up may bring problems to India's hopes. Though 4-0 is too ambitious prediction, expected Indian batsmen upper hand is found with problems to handle Australian bowling techniques.

Mohkanari, may be that Australians have an better hand being heir home ground but we can not say that indian bowlers are inconsistent in this series. They are performing very well. All fault lies in our batting side. Batsmen are not putting up any fight at all. They are simply surrendering.

It is true, the Australians have an upper hand in this series. But you have to take into consideration the fact that the Indian team of the past few years has bounced back from a deficit many a time.If Sachin comes good with the bat, winning this match is a real possibility. And the 100th century for the master blaster will be the icing on the cake!

You know what i will pray that your words come true. Because Sachin's 100th ton is much awaited. If I am not mistaken it has been 19 matches since his last ton. he is in great shape and is contributing to the team in other ways too. Also he is putting a lot of efforts as well.

And the rout is very much on. This Indian side seems to be going the way of the olden Indian sides which simply used to crumble against the Aussies if the keyword "Bounce" was mentioned. If they lose this test, then I am pretty sure that they could lose by a whitewash. Cheers! Ram

What Mcgrath said is right. I do not think India's 3 men batting team will save India from this white wash. Gambhir(completely out of form), Sehwag(we never know when will he play his best game, he can play well on flat tracks where there is nothing for bowlers), Dravid(recently played well against England, West Indies. Hope he gets into a great batting form), Sachin(he is untouchable because of his class but if pressure is too much he too might not able to do much for team India), Laxman(completely lost touch it might be because of test cricket is played very less and he is not able to play more games. He is getting old and I do not expect much wonders from him), Kohli( is very fortunate to get test place so early in spite of better player like Rohit Sharma is there), Dhoni(again Unpredictable player no one know when will he play well with bat), Ashwin(he is contributing well with bat and scoring valuable 30 odd runs in the end and doing good job). one cannot expect much from Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadhav with bat. So called strong batting line is simple because of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman. When they do not fire then it is curtains for Indian batting in tests..

I think he didn't say anything wrong. If you see the condition of INDIAN batting in the three inning they had played show far the statement seems very much true. These batsman just mean to play in home. They can only play in INDIAN well and in other countries they fall like cards where one follow other. In first test you must have noticed that a tailender of austrail had scored more than regular high order batsman. It seem much true to me. I think if they will even able to make a thing good for just a session? Will they ever gooing to build a good session where they can call that they had dominated the session. Ans is no not. It surue that this macth is out of hand of INDIA and so i am not aspecting magic from them in coming innings.

Especially todays match Rajeev you saw how Pattinson is bowling. I have only one word, Incredible. Although I thought that Sachin will put up a nice fight , but even he surrendered to him. I think we will lose this match too.......

If i tell you that the Oz greats like Mcgrath who have seen glorious days of Aus cricket didn't like their current team languishing at number position 4, they are helping current team by playing some mind games on their behalf. As i am writing this article, Australia are 48 for 3. I am very much in the favor, if India got a lead of even 10 runs in this match, everything would be changed and suddenly Aus bowlers would struggle to get India out cheaply throughout the remainder of the series. Just a little lead can do great wonders. What do you think vishal?

I hope what you are wishing , really happen. but i am seeing the current score and its Aus at 116/3. I hope McGrath words will be proved untrue. At least I can wish for it. Rest will be unfolded in tomorrow's game.

Hi Vishalssgk, I respect Mcgrath, but i don't think wash out will be happen to India. Atleast India will win one of the coming three Test match. As Australian and old Australian player Mcgrath may comment like that. India will surely fight back. That too expecting good show from Laxman in the coming matches. Lets Hope Mcgrath prediction may go wrong !

We all are praying for india to bounce back into the game. Lets see what will happen tomorrow. I hope that bowlers will again put up a good show and will bring back the match from the brink of loss.
