I have experienced moving from house to house alot. It all happened during elementary and high school, We had to move to different houses for I don't really know for the exact reasons but I am very confident with my father's decision making, because he has never failed to show that it was for our best interests.
and now my sister, who constantly travels around the country due to her work finally got assigned to work in the same city as we live. It was a rush job actually, she informed us that she will be moving by november 1, but it was then confirmed on january 1. And we had to move all her stuff into the new house. but there was a problem, the house was nice, it was a big house with a big area, but there was no electricity, water and, it was not cleaned up yet.
The owner of the house was actually a close relative of ours but it seemed that my sister was to busy with work that she forgot to tell my uncle to prepare the house for the move. Now we are on our 2nd day, and I was able to clean up the master's bedroom and it was already ok to stay there, and my older brother cleaned up the half of the lawn. and by tomorrow, Hopefully there is already water and electricity, and we will be able to clean the house and make it livable again.
Right now my sister is staying in my uncle's residence, while we are preparing her new home.

Hi Davaome,
Some reasons I know why their are some families move from a house to another is that maybe because they don't have their own house or it is for security and peacefulness. It can also because of job opportunity, and barely to some families is for a change, moving on and starting a new life! The physical structure of the house is not necessary, and what matters is that the kind and value of people who will live in! A perfect home is were a family can work together, stay together with faith in god and to each other for you to live forever! And congratulations to you and your new home! Good luck and God bless! :)

hello myzhian,
I don't really know the reason why we continuously move from house to house before but I guess, I agree that you reasons for moving are infact true
My sister, who just moved to the same city with us, happens to be newly assigned her by her company.
Your second to the last sentence really reminds me of something but i can't seem to get the right words for it... but what I really wanted was to say was thank you, and I do my best to keep my family close, and closer to God as well.
I wish you good luck as well,
Happy myLotting

So why isn't your sister helping clean up the house. After all it will be her home.
That is very nice of you and your brother to help get the home ready for her to move in.

Sorry when I first read the discussion it sounded like it was just you and your brother doing the work. It is good that you all can do this together to help her get into her home sooner.

My sister is actually with us, helping out a little with the cleaning and arranging, but even during her "day off" she is still being contacted by the Corporation that she works with, so she is actually still working even while we are cleaning and fixing the house.
My sister has had already a bad experience in moving into a new house on a different city, and I wasn't available that time because I was still abroad working that time. Atleast now, I can ensure her some "quality" help and she can atleast relax for a bit and let me do that dirty work

Your sister is very lucky to have a very helpful and supportive family.
Since she's busy at work, it will just be proper for the family whose hands are not that full, to help in cleaning and setting the house for occupancy.
She will surely be very happy once she sees the house cleaned and ready for occupancy. That calls for a little celebration with all of your present!

She's also so lucky to have you , as her brother my friend!
She has sown some seeds in you and now she's starting to reap some already from you.

Hopefully she will be satisfied because I made sure to give an extra effort because I was ordered by my father to live with her while she stays in the same city as we do
Thank you SIMPLYD, but I think I am also lucky to have her as my sister, she has also helped me many times before, specially during college and I guess that's how "family" is supposed to be.
Happy myLotting friend :)

New home for a New Year
If I would write about the same topic it would be so long. Because we have shifted for a lot of times, I couldn't count it anymore - started when I was in fifth grade until only about I guess three years ago when we finally bought our own lot with an old house. So now construction has been going on til now don't know when it';s gonna finish.
And when I worked in another country before. My mom was teasing and laughing at me whenever I tell her me and my roommates have to shift to a new room/flat. I think for four years there, I've lived in 9 different rooms/flat. So hard and expensive moving to a new place; so exhausting as well.

It's really alot of work moving to a new home, and I busy thing to do to start the year
Seems that you're already a "veteran" in moving to a new home enelym As far as I remember, my family had to change houses to stay around 7 times and the feeling of always, packing stuff then arranging them, then the cycle repeats it self after a while. :D
Never experienced moving to a new place abroad before but, I bet it's even harder because less people to help you in moving your stuff around.
And so true, expensive, and EXHAUSTING as well. actually we are already on our 3rd day today in just merely cleaning up the new house, and arranging stuff and were still not finished :)
Hopefully by tomorrow, or the day after we are done, and I guess by that time I would be moving in together with my sister.

I tried recalling how many times our family shifted. Odd and I was shocked! It's also 9 times But that started when I was in fifth grade. So that is a lot more years compared to the 4 years I've been out of the country and shifted 9 times.
Here, normally it's my mom who would be so tired She packed all things up, usually I am at school or at work or I was in another country. But abroad, I experienced how difficult it really is. I even lost my gold earrings And one time, we had to shift on that day itself and at 3AM we are not done moving things up to the new room. Good thing there were at least 2 guys who helped us carrying everything.

somehow I feel sorry for your mom. I guess because I know how she feels during those times
having 2 guys helping is already an advantage than just doing it alone. but moving in a day seems alot of work, and I'm sure it would be very stressful specially if you have work on the next day.
I'm sorry to hear about your gold earrings, no question about it, it was expensive.
I hate losing stuff as well, and it has happen to me as well, when I was newly assigned to a new Ship, it was a domestic passenger ship, and I just left my Cellular Phone inside the pocket of my pants and changed into working clothes because we were to be given a familiarization first, then when i came back to my cabin, I was almost done unpacking and I noticed that my Phone was already gone.

You are quite busy these days having general repairs and cleaning with your brother. Even you are still busy doing house makeover, you still managed to work online and visiting on mylot daily. I am curious regarding electricity, how can you use your computer if there is no electricity?

Oh I see, you used up all your energy. You got all stressed up, but it is okay at least you sleep longer and no one disturbs your sleep.

I'm glad that you ask my friend it's because I don't stay yet at the house of my sister which I am repairing/helping out with. I go home everyday after a hard days work. I stay at my father's house, but I guess by the time the house is already ready, I will be living with my sister.
It's hard, because I'm very tired from doing some repairs from the house and by the time I go home, I try to open myLot first before going to sleep. But when I sit infront of my laptop, all my tiredness vanishes then I can go on doing more work here.
but...
the next morning I will be too tired to wake up. I end up getting to my sister's place just in time for lunch. :)

Congrats on the new house. I am sure once you get the water and electricity on that everyone will settle in comfortably.
I always lived in the same house throughout my childhood but when I become old enough to go, I moved around quite a bit. Moving can be a ton of work but it is also very exciting and sometimes fills you with the feeling of a fresh start.
Congrats again on the move and good luck!

I also have same experienced but since I was just a kid before,it didn't matter to me at all.
I just like moving to a new place for new experience and new friends.
But now that I need to do all the things- I can feel the how hard it is especially when you do not much people to help you with.
The last time we moved house is 12 yrs ago and it's a mixture of excitement moving to a new house and tiring too.

I have that same feeling of excitement when moving to a new house when I was little, because I didn't have to lift a finger. hahaha
But now, it's hard and tiring, just today we only finished the living room, and only the kitchen remains to be undone We had to go to the water district and process the papers for the re use of the water and it was finished.
It was very rewarding really because the house was such a mess, but now, it really looks very "livable". hehehe :P Only thing we have to wait is for the electricity to be active again.

It was actually fun growing up moving to different places, because I meet other people from different places and I was able to keep in touch with some, and others get reconnected via Facebook :D But it was easy before because I was just a little kid and I guess I was pampered and there were alot of people that actually helped out before when I was still little.
But now that i'm all grown up, no more people to help my sister but me my brothers and my cousin who owns the house.
Hopefully in the future I can my own house and make it permanent so that I don't have to encounter this kind of i guess "problem" in life
