The Holidays Drained My Energy

The holiday season, because of commercialization, can become so tiring. Before and after, it required of me a lot of my strength and effort.
Tradition can be so annoying at times but seeing those little children receiving the wrapped gifts with joy in their eyes, makes the heart warm and light. Seeing the adult relatives, too, warms the heart. Before Christmas came, my nephews and nieces, together my sisters came. I have not seen them for a long time. It was exciting.
I think the part seeing relatives again that I have not seen for long is the best part of the whole tiring occasion.
Did the holidays drained your energy, too?

I feel the same dear
I feel that my vacation days are much tiring. I used to spent my time with my friends and cousins to have fun. Making and enjoying fun is really nice and I love it but the thing is that I feel very tired especially at night time.

Bingskee, hope you have a happy and wonderful celebration with your family recently. Indeed, i do feel quite tiring after the recent holiday celebration. Because i need to help out with the preparation of food when my relatives comes over to my home to celebrate the recent new year celebration. The most joyful moment is that i am able to meet my long distance relatives as well, during this recent celebration. So, for me, i am still quite satisfied although i had drained my energy during this occasion.

Yes, even though i wish for an extended vacation. We went to a two way trip because we spent our Christmas in our grandparent;s house and then came back to our own house for the New Year. add to that the preparation for the festivities and some nagging to have some new appliance i n our home. My mother dragged me to a spring cleaning project on both houses so I'm really really tired. In addition, i have to help her in cooking the fest. On top of that, I was given work during the holidays . I enjoy the celebrations but I am more inclined to work than join the revelry. Almost all of cousins are also working so I just got connected to them via chatting or texting.
My parents despaired at the notion of me working during the holidays but I just can't pass up the opportunity. I mean, it's good time management to celebrate with family and still get some work on the side.

Well yes! How could it not when it was really such a busy, busy holiday season to me. I did a lot of home cleaning and decorating. I did a lot shopping and gift wrapping. I attended and also hosted a lot of parties and did a lot of talking, laughing and eating. We went to a lot of places and did a lot of walking and picture taking. I did a lot of marketing and lot of cooking. I received lots of guests, gave out lots of gifts and received lots of gifts in return and opening them seemed never-ending. It was such an energy-draining holiday season for me indeed. Nevertheless, the joy it brought to me is overwhelming and enough to keep me going and looking forward to next Christmas season.

Anything that involves financial stress is always physically draining for me. It's hard to spread the spirit of Christmas when there is only so much to go around. Yet, I'm thankful that we're through it. Even though some of the effects (credit card bills) are still to be realized.
Hopefully we get all caught up before the next holiday comes.

Happy new year!
Fortunately for me, it wasn't drained that much. The very thing that stresses me out during the holidays is preparing for several Christmas parties, especially those with themes. There are a lot of people everywhere. It's hard to move, it takes long to find a cab. Good thing though that I leave 15 minutes walk away from one of the malls so I just walk when I see the very long queues in the taxi bay.
To lessen the stress, I made sure I reserve tickets for my trip going home and coming back to where I work.
I spent the New Year break at home and it can get a little stressful but fun. At the last minute, I decided to buy assorted candies and chocolates and placed them in small plastic bags for the kids who will be coming over during New Year's day. And you're right, it warms the heart when you see children very happy with whatever they receive. Oh, to be a kid again!
Overall though, I would say that my energy wasn't super drained. I still had some left to be able to travel back and go to work on the 2nd.

The thing I hated most about it was that the traffic everywhere was so overwhelming! It was as if everybody was out there in a rush and panic-buying for gifts! It was so hard hailing a vacant taxi. I normally taxi from my day job to my house so I could get some sleep before I taxi to my night job, and it was terrible during December. So, I got very little sleep during that month. And, I see that things are different now, because my route is free of that traffic and I can get a cab easier now.
I did not go home for the holidays, so, I was spared the stress of spending them with all my relatives. But I was glad that my parents and little brother were here with me. New year, I did not go home, either, but my other brother and his family and my mom were here. And, it was more than enough for me.

hi, gloryacam. happy new year!
true, the traffic gives so much stress. we shopped earlier so we didn't have to suffer much, but there are little traffics here and there that are unavoidable.
good that you have your loved ones with you during the holidays.

I do not do a whole lot during the holidays anymore. I did get to go to my sister's house and see all my siblings. And we did go to my mom's house on Christmas eve. It was nice, as you said, to see everyone. I have kind of tried to slow things down that time of year and not be so active. It seems to help me enjoy them more without getting so tired!

Dear Ms. Bingskee
B'lated wishes for a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous 2012.
well, the holidays werent that tiring this time. I had nowhere to go and stayed at home and my wife too did not have any holidays. So it was quite a boring week for me. But now after all that ended up, I dont know why I feel lazy and dull. Is it the eagerness that ended with the arrival of this year 2012 or anything else... not yet sure
