It has occurred to me that I should be very proud of myself. You see, it appears that I am the most capable and talented person in my home. It's just that I have so many abilities that no one else in my family appear to have.
For example, I am the only one in my house who knows how to operate the vacuum. I am also the only one who knows how the broom works. Nobody except me knows how to close a closet or cupboard door after it has been opened. I am also the only one who knows how to load or unload the dishwasher.
But my special talents don't stop there! Oh no! I am also the only person in my family who knows how to put a new roll of toilet paper on the holder, and I'm not talking about knowing if the roll should hang over or under, I mean I am the only one who can remove an empty roll and put a fresh one on, period! The same goes for the paper towels.
I am also the only one who knows how to put the cereal box back in the cupboard and how to put the milk back in the refrigerator. I feel so proud! I am so special to have such wonderful talents that no one else in my family has.
Do you have any special talents?

You seem like my mother. Congratulations though. As I read through this mother mother was the only thing that came in my mind. Its not like I don't do anything around the house because I do. But its like when I do one thing and I thought she would be happy, it turned out I miss a million things and she still ending up cursing. Its like I can never please her. i don't know why females eyes are so good. They tend to spot each and everything. I don't. i struggle to spot those things, its like I would walk over something on the floor without noticing that it really was there and as soon as i finish. There would be my mom "RENHARD, TAKE UP THAT FROM OFF THE FLOOR."
I am in high school now and maybe its because I never really lived on my own make I am like this. More over there are a lot of children in my house so every time I do clean up, something else makes the place messy. It is kinda hard to keep up with it all. But seriously how do you females do it? I find it really difficult to.
I really feel though if I have my own house and was living by myself or maybe with just a girl the place will remain tidy, but when kids start to be involve. Wow that is just a pain in the butt. I just hope I imagine it like how I see it now. I don't see myself as nasty at all. Just frustrated and sometimes cant be bothered about something that will be messed up back in the next 5 minutes

The people in my house do not do any of things I mentioned ever, not even when I nicely ask them too. I can only assume they don't know how.

LOL! What about finding the garbage can ... or the sink? Apparently I am the only one in the house that can turn around in the kitchen and realize that the garbage can is only two steps from the table as is the sink, although admittedly the sink is in the opposite direction so I guess that could get a bit confusing. It seems that everyone else just sees the table and cannot comprehend that two more steps in either direction will allow the garbage and the dishes to be in their proper places - yes, I said "proper places" for dishes in the sink, because I am the only one talented enough to be able to wash them as well.

Hello Dear betsyraeduke! While appreciating your sense of humour, let me clarify it the story is same with most of the housewives! Most of them will have same woes to narrate!
I understand family members shouldn't take one for granted and expect the things to be done by the same person! For kids the jobs mentioned by you are to be done by Mom and for a husband these jobs are to be done by a wife!
This is unfortunate part of a typical family! I feel the children if they are bit grown should realise the hard work of their mother and extend their helping hand sharing the household work! Similarly the husband should also share the work by the wife!
This not only reduce the burden of the housewife but also gives her a sense of satisfaction that her work is being appreciated and she is being cared too!
Now I am a male of about 50+,I have been a responsible person of my family right from the time I got married to wife and similarly our only son has been trained to help his mother when ever it is possible! This keeps the family happy and it helps in staying the family united!
It is an interesting topic of discussion and presented in a such a lovely manner , that I am highly impressed! I am happy to meet a sensible and matured person on this site with so nice sense of humour! God bless you dear friend! Don't worry things will get settled soon and if trained properly you can make some good talented people in your family! Thanks !

Oooh, I have a whole bunch of special talents. In fact I have so many I must be a supernatural being - a fairy. It would seem that way as everyone else believes the work around here is done by fairies so I must be one. Where are my wings and wand? I demand my wings and wand!

Love it! I think all wives and mothers feel the same exact way! I know I do.
At first when reading your title I thought someone seems full of themselves a little bit. Lol. Then I started reading and it was so perfect! And so true for most of us...

I think it is time for you to take a vacation. By yourself. Of course you would hesitate to do so, because of what you might find when you come back. Sometimes I do not do these things either, and the place falls a bit apart. I just recently went back to work. For now dear hubby is keeping up really well. We shall see what progress occurs.

Oh yes, mothers do these things (hahaha)
I also observed same thing dear.
I am the only talented person in our house.
Let me add some more- putting back the toothpaste and toothbrush where it should belong.
And ohh, how about the lights? I am sure you are also the only one who knows how to turn it off once someone turn it on and leave the room (hahahaa)

Hi there betsyraeduke!!
I envy you for having so much talent.I guess this only shoes that you are very reliable in your house and you know most of the tasks and basic responsibilities in your home.I think it will be very hard for your companions at home to move if ever you have to stay away from home.

Wow betsy I wish you lived in my house and would do all those things for me I didn't know people like yourself were still about.
I have to repair the car fix the house do the finances ( not easy when your on pension and the wife likes to spend money ), and fit new kitchen.
I say all this with tongue in cheek. You are a very devoted housewife who likes to see her house looking good and would appreciate people being responsible for the mess they make.
My wife and I do look after the things you mention if they arise in front of us. I will say however the things I say I do are definitely down to me. The washing machine however is hers, men do not seem to know how they work and I am no exception.

I would assume it's not a talent. It's being hard-working and one who has the initiative to do things at home. You might have lazy family members and they used to depend on you. And thinks that you will do everything so they tend to just relax and let you do all chores.

I think this is what make women special. My wife always says mothers have a disability: they only have two arms. Thank you to all the hardworking wives and mothers, we appreciate you and salute you. You are talented.

Thats a nice list of talents right there, althought I would say they are more responsibilities than talents but I know how it goes. I have a girlfriend who can't seem to do anything without my help, but I can do it just fine with no help and no sleep.

Nope! No special talents. I'm the one who gets blamed whenever anything is broken.
