How is your life going in this New Year, good or bad?

I think all of us would love to start this beautiful new year on a positive cord and actions we feel are headed in a good direction. Well, so far, my new year is not starting as I would wish, and I seem unable to change it. Health issues are stagnating any movement forward. My hubby has been sick for a couple week. When he is sick, I try to be quiet and keep everything low key. Unfortunately, there are things I want to do, and now they are just waiting because it makes too much noise and keeps him from resting and getting healthy. This has been going on for a couple weeks, and I'm getting impatient to get some things done. I want to achieve something besides sitting in a chair and being on the computer. Our home is not big enough to do things without it disturbing him. But for now, I feel like I'm getting off on the wrong foot for this year. How about you? Are you feeling things are or aren't going well in this new year?

So sorry to hear about your husband being sick . . . hope he has a speed recovery so that you can both get on with the things that you want and need to get done. Our new year is literally a continuance (as I mentioned in another myLot discussion). With two little ones, there's never a break. I will say thus far, it's a "good" continuance . . . hubby started a new job today which should be exciting for him. The weather in Southern CA is pretty warm - almost like summer - that we are able to do outdoor things with the kids. My oldest one is on her last week of school vacation and the little one is growing up so quickly. And as for me . . . I still have a billion things to do no matter what. If I can get one thing done in a day - I feel like I accomplished something - ha ha. I wish you a happy new year, cotruelove! Remember the "new year" is just a calendar thing . . . we can always start anew anytime of the year!

Too funny, cotruelove! Well, I actually wish I had more time to be at the computer . . . with little ones I go on here and there when I can. I try to go on after they sleep or before they wake up . . . but it's too hard either way because that means I have to cut out some sleep and I'm too exhausted these days. Hope your husband is feeling better today!!

Sorry to hear your husband is unwell I hope he gets better soon and you can get on and do the things you want to do. The year has started well for me so far. We had good weather yesterday so I took advantage of it and planted some daffofil and snowdrop bulbs in my garden. I have already sorted out the seeds I want to plant this year and can't wait to get started. Just waiting to make sure the frost is finally over lol.

I'm sorry your husband is having so many health problems, but both of you are suffering. He is being incredibly selfish by using your resources and refusing to go to the doctor. Since you have some health issues too, it isn't right for him to only consider himself. I know it's hard to get out and go to the doctor when all you feel like doing is being in bed, but he NEEDS to go and take care of himself. I think you should do whatever you need to and stop trying not to make noise. Maybe then he will be inspired to get up and go to the doctor and be able to get better.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband. It's certainly not the best way to start the New Year. It's not the way you want someone to start the new year. As for me, I can't really complain. My year started well. Everyone in my family is pretty healthy. I'm healthy. I couldn't really ask for more, or for better. Or at least, I can't ask for more at the moment.

When life's tough situations come along I have found it is best to believe that I am just where I am meant to be, this gives me patience to put off what I think I should be doing. Blessings.

Nice philosophy and one I've used often, but when you are dealing with extend sickness, mental or physical, it doesn't always work as easily as the theory. Since I have free will the same as you, we always have the choice to change whatever is the problem or to live with it as it is. I doubt seriously, any of us, know exactly where we are supposed to be, or what our God's will is for us, because unless we hear voices which would probably get us admitted to a psychiatric unit, we have to figure out what is the right action for us. IF you read my response to the prior post, you might get some insight as to what is going on that is causing me to loose patience. I find sometimes impatience is necessary to motive myself or some one else to not procrastinate. All aspects of character seem to have both good and bad uses to them, including anger, fear, despair, and any others you wish to name. Thanks for your response and the blessings.

A new year, a fresh year, it is rather something that has really refreshed me in many ways to say the very least. 2011 wasn't necessary a bad year for me, but there were a lot of ups and there were a lot of downs. There were going to really be a lot of times where I wanted to rip my hair out in frustration with everything that happened last year, but there were a lot of smiles as well. 2012, things are looking mostly promising. Then again, only time will tell to say the very least. There are just going to really be many times where things can turn around. Let us cross our fingers and really hope for all of the best. Let us hope that this year will be one that we are all going to really enjoy beyond mostly everything. I'm at a good place right down for 2012.

Glad to hear you are optimistic for this new year. I've found when I keep that attitude, things tend to go pretty well, and when I don't, well, not so good. I've always said I can the way I view something and in return change my perception of the thing as a problem. Thanks for the response!

I've always found when my attitude is bad to start a year, it usually means I'm going to make it a difficult year. For me it is all about my attitude! Thanks for your response, glad to hear you have a job!

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband is sick. I hope that he gets better soon. My New Year has started out with me being a nervous wreck because I'm about to apply for a full time job at the place where I work right now. I've been an intern for the past three years and I'm nervous that I won't get it and that I will. Either way I'm just nervous and I haven't slept for the past few days. What has me worried is that I asked my current boss that I wanted to speak to him for his wisdom and his advice. In the end I'm hoping to get the job because I'm about to start paying off my student loans really soon. I'm hoping that thie New Year will be a good one. Happy Mylotting!

It's good that he has ambition, because that will get him far ahead. I feel comfortable staying where I work at right now because I like it and since I'm an actress; I need a second stable job. It seems that something must be going around because I've started to feel sick. It was very cold here in NYC today as well so that must be it. It must be hard to do a complete career change but all the luck to your son.

Thanks for the well wishes for my son. He is changing from accounting to geophysist. Big difference and we'll see how he does with the schooling.

Everything changes that is a guarantee! My son went through that intern stuff for several years, and finally he moved to a different company and a different job. Funny thing now that he the education for that job, and getting the money, he is planning on a complete change in careers! At least he has ambition. My hubby keeps trying to convince me he is getting better, but his cough doesn't indicate it. I know he didn't get his flu shot this year, and before when he did, he wasn't ever sick. Happy MyLotting to you also!

I am like you. My husband constantly watches the fox news channel about the election and its just driving me crazy! For me with my disabilities it is hard for me to get a lot done. And can't get hubby to understand our home is to large for me. Just going from our diningroom table to kitchen will make me dizzy if I do it to many times. My best friend was diagnosed with terminal Cancer over Christmas. I just don't think this year will be to good with all the goings on in our country. We just have to try and grin and bear it so to speak and just do what we can and glad we made it one more day. Hugggs to you hon

Thanks, I try hard not to get into the things centered around politics these days and do the things I have some control over. I just try to be grateful for the little triumphs and let the big monster problems take care of themselves when I know I have no control over them. Thanks for the response!

my health hasn't been so good of late but it is improving slowly, i know we are only at the beginning of the new year, but i feel an improvement already, so maybe 2012 is going to be the year that i can actually feel normal again, i hope so, being sick is so draining, i want to do things and get out and about more so i am concentrating on my health and i am hoping to make it better
