Hey pplz,
Respond to this interesting discussion- What do u prefer in between these two? On the first seen you ppl think that having your own business is much better than having a job. But when you have government job, then what's good? Give your comments

i would rather choose to have my own business, since it's good to be a boss rather than to be an employee of someone's company, but raising a business is a gamble and a risk, and as of now i don't have enough money to put up my own business, so i'm stuck up from being an employee of some jerk that doesn't think about my opinion

In the world, I don't think any one want to do job, if they are already having own business as its always better as compare to jobs. You are the boss and you are aware of your responsibility but in the jobs, you are depend on boss as they are having all the power therefore business is more preferable

I prefer passive income. lol
Okay, if given only those two things as options, I would really find another way. But seriously between those two, I would get the business. I want to be the boss and not to be bossed around by strangers (who has lower IQ than me. hehehe!) with the big possibility that I can be fired any second now due to some economic changes.
Though a business may be a smaller source of income at first, it can still grow depending on how big you wish it to go. Nobody can stop you in making your business go it's way as you wish (aside for the government, of course) as long as it is legal. And with doing business, you experience exposures that one can never or would never be exposed to if under employment.
Happy MyLotting!

I prefer job than business. I am from family which is in average background. In order to get survive, i need job. I have an idea of starting business. I need too much time to plan about what type of business going to start. first of all i need o earn more money and get more knowledge about starting and running business successfully.

I prefer bussines! Because you are the boss of ur own! But sure the risk is higher in bussines compare to job! But still bussiness is better, because you can hire ur self, plus hiring people if ur bussines get expanded.

Hi! my fellow mylotters,
I personally think that a highly paying job, with little challenges will be best for me.Doing a job provides you steady income and experience. But if I would start my own business,I will be more attentative .There will be always heavy risk.As we know, times are good and bad also.If one suffers heavy losses,we can blame no one.Our family would be dependent on us,also we have to take care of our near and dear ones.On the otherhand ,if we make profits,it will be good for everbody.Thinking about all the pros and cons. All the risk factors and our abilities one can decide what is good for him/her.

I would like to do business compared to be employed. But it's not easy to start up a business. It needs lot of time, effort and experience before we can be successful. For people without capital like me, I have to keep my day time job which could sustain my living and accumulate the modal needed to start up business.
Of course, doing business is exposed to risk, but the return is much more rewarding compared to being employed. In fact, in long term and a broader view, being employed is carrying risk as well. For example, we could be laid off any time and our salary is not on par with inflation.
Therefore, my strategy is to stick to my job, and explore business opportunity during my free time.

Having your own business is far better than just merely being an employee to a government agency or an organization if your main goal is to earn a lot of money. but well, it depends on the type of business that you plan to have. Taking a business course, taught us that having a business is one of the best way to be rich, Why? it's because you're the boss in your own company and you have more income if you would be very industrious in your work and since you have the choice on how to budget your time wisely. My dad has his own business and I can see that it's far more advantageous to have his own business because he has employees to work for him and in return he has more time for us and for other things. Hope you enjoyed my comment. Good day!:)

I have been working for 6 years and I am fed up. Since I found earning online my motivation to work again was revived. Now I am more into business than having an employer. I am now in the process of establishing my online business. Good luck and happy earnings!

I would like to do a job first and gain experience. Once im confident about myself... Ill think of starting my own business. Starting a business is not an easy task and you require substantial amount of investments too. Im still at the beginning of my career and there is a long way to go... Lets see where life takes me...

Simple, richest people are job providers and poor people are job seekers. But its highly depends on one's ability or quality to provide jobs to others. As per the statement of Billgates, one should have good education before entering into the business.
If you are so lazy and don't want to be a learner, then better go for the jobs. Some people have the quality to do business in their blood itself but someone develop qualities from reading books and listening to great leaders.

i would prefer to have my own business..i just want something that is like a store situated or located in a commercialized area that sells basic commodities for people. i would want a business where i wouldn't have to employ lots of people to work for me, i just want one that is manageable by me or few people. or i would want to buy land and build a building in a commercialized area for rental. I would want to be self-employed so i can have more time spend for my family. it's hard to work for somebody else..i want to be my own boss..

Definitely I would prefer having my own business! If possible, managing a business along with having a regular job. If you are an ordinary employee, you can work hard the whole day but the salary you'll get is fix. Of course your salary can increase by doing OTs or after the annual salary review or by getting a promotion. With having your own business, you'll be immediately compensated on the effort that you exert. The potential of earning more is always high for hardworking and honest individuals. Also, I believe that many employees want to venture into business after they retire and got a hold of their retirement benefits. If this is the case, why wait for a long time before starting your own cash cow? Take a risk and be the boss :)

Businesses cannot guarantee a steady income. Nevertheless it has a potential for higher generation of money. A job keeps you secure and the salary is steady. Plus, depending on the job and or the company/employer, there are benefits that are good. If i were to choose i would have to say business, i have ideas that can greatly improve my business plan in mind. If and when i already have enough money to start a business, i will definitely start as early as i can. And i don't want to make a limitation to my money making potential.

between a business that earns well and a job that pays well, at anytime i will always take the business that earns well. business hires people, and that is what i like in business. jobs only pay the workers and do not create much jobs. business can expand and create more jobs.

hi ashish2expert,
I prefer having my own business than to stay being an employee. So long that I am working in government, my eyes are starting to see the wrong system in the government. The way people work for their greedy intentions. I am not generalizing all the government people but I had witnessed selfish people. Those people who are using the taxes and putting it inside their pocket instead of spending it to the people who are paying them. This makes me angry and just wish to have my own business where I am the boss and I am not under anyone.

I have been an employee for about 21 years. Now I am running a business. I would say that I would like to be a businessman only.
Being an employee is boring and monotonous, if you don't move in your positions. Government job is likely to make one lazy and irresponsible. (Not all people, but it is the general situation. Even if one is responsible, he/she can't overlook his irresponsible senior.)
Whereas being a businessman is little challenging. I'm liking the way I am behaving. It's making us responsible and regular.
But, one should have enough money to run his family till his/her business picks up. It has both profit and loss. If unexpectedly something happens, the family should sustain it. Starting a business with all the money one has, is not adviseable. In that case one should opt for job only.
There is one saying
"Job = less risk; Business = High risk.
High risk = high return; Low risk = low return;"
