What went wrong with Indian team in 2nd test at SCG

Well friends, I wondered how can a inexperienced bowling attack with the likes of Pattinson,Hilfenhaus and Siddle dismiss Indian strong batting line for just 191 runs. There is no Brett Lee, Ryan Harris or Bollinger in the side. Not an even quality spinner for Australia. Is Indian batsmen are getting more used to ODI and T20 formats and not much patience's is shown in test cricket. Whereas Australian struggling batsmen Ponting and Clarke scoring big knocks. Was Indian bowling weak? I won't take away credit from Australia for playing such a good cricket but I was very surprised the way India team got out for just 191 runs. Australian bowlers bowled good line but those lines are not ineradicable one in my view. Most of the Indian batsmen played rash shots and even Tendulkar got out for wide ball. I am not able to figure out what went wrong in this second test match. Indian team is not at all giving any fight they are playing like a Bangladesh test side. Already a lead of 291 runs build up and Australia will not declare because they want to put a total which is difficult for India. To me the present lead is more than enough for Indian side if Australia declares then India will not be able to chase that 291 lead. This match is one sided affair in my view friends, what are your views friends??

Simply poor batting from Team India and nothing else. After that the bowlers shoulders have dropped and they seem to have nearly given up. I think the only thing that we can salvage from this game is a draw and that would require Indian batsman to bat out at least two days which I am not sure is possible for them. Cheers! Ram

well ram, what you said is 100% true. First innings batting performance is something which destroyed India's prospects in this SCG test match. Ishant Sharma drop catch of Michael Clarke was very costly as well. I wonder any whether interruption happens. Only that can save team India.

Well i think indian team both batsman and bowlers does not have any consistency.thats the main problem. they cannot even bat in foreign countries. i think this lead is enough . if they declare now they can finish it by tomorrow.and sachin is not able to bat because of emmence pressure to him. you know about 100 ton.... thats only i can say....

thanks for your views musicloverfriends. well I do not think Australia will declare until Michael Clarke scores triple hundred and Hussey his hundred. So, Indian bowlers have to put attacking fields tomorrow at least to pick quick wickets. Yeah Sachin is having lot of pressures, forget about his 100th ton, if no one stands with him and wickets falls then Sachin will go for shots which one should leave. I hope openers comes into form.. Let us hope for best.. :D

Let us start with toss, Dhoni made a big blunder by deciding to bat wicket which had on offer for pacers on first two sessions on first day of Test. Sadly for test when conditions and pitch got better only Dhoni was left with tail which could not offer any resistance. This coupled with Aussie pacers bowling fuller, made full use of pitch and conditions also some of the batsmen have clearly not been able to adjust to conditions till now. Likes Gambhir, Kohli and Laxman are struggling. Even Wall is getting bowled coz of defensive mindset you get in. Although, I know batters will score runs as they are proven lot, may be not as much as we expect them and may be not collectively that would have helped team's chances. Dhoni as a captain is not able to motivate his team-mates much, Raina and Bhajji at-least in past did try to cheer up mates when chips down, Aussie media and crowds is after them like always. Besides, I don't get the point like several commentators about defensive field placings and defensive bowling, as I think you can't contain them like them must have found out. Only way to contain is to bowl well, create enough pressure and make them make mistakes. Ishant I think has been big let down. Wehn Clark came to crease, he was served so many four balls that anyone would get in form, like both ponting and clark showed against this toothless attack which neither had discipline, had field set for bad bowling and not enough planning and execution to take wickets. It just shows that support staff and team mgmt has clearly not been up to task, and with even quicker pitches like WACA next, I don't see things changing much. You can hope for all you want, but for results one has to work at shortcomings.

Well Dravid and laxman batted very sensibly against the likes of Mc Grath and co. What went wrong when they are facing a inexperienced bowling attack of Siddle, Pattinson and co.. This match can be interesting only if India removed the remaining batsmen quickly if that does not happen then it is lost cause.

India is displaying poor performance even in the second test. the world famous batting line up is struggling to deliver. looks like, this test will also be won by Aus.
