Do you know any good sites for beginner writers?

I know one good one, myLot! I am interested in the paid sites but I am also interested in discovering free educational writing resources online. I write songs and I am working on a book. It's like the never ending story at the moment, but hopefully this time I've got the right format for it. There are so many ways to write books i.e first person, 3rd person and in different time sequences. Hopefully I can now complete it but I am keen to improve and educate myself along the way. If you have any suggestions that would be great! Thanks

There's an extremely helpful discussion about this over here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2610958.aspx In response 1, there's a list of other discussions about a load of different aspects of writing online, each of which leads to even more discussions about it. Just about everything you could ever need is in there, I think! If you're looking for an excellent community for fiction writing and critiques, I'd suggest Scribophile. They're really friendly over there.

Thanks for that redirection, I will have a good look there too. The information has been so helpful I have a few sites to look at but I'm very happy with MyLot at the moment. It's helping me break my habit of typing in text speech for a start! I'm really excited about getting to know some other writers. Thanks for your help.

I know of another site good for nurturing writers and creative people and I will send you a personal message as sometimes posting about the competition does not sit well here. I do both sites, but MyLot is my favorite.

Thanks. I never know what to say about what here because I do want to stay within the rules also and don't want to lose the ability to myLot.

Hello. Writing has been my favorite hobby since my college years, and is still is. Among many online writing sites, for a beginner, I would say "Review Stream" is an excellent site. There you can write brief reviews on a variety of topics, things you come across in your day-to-day activities, shopping, movies, restaurants, hotels, travel, etc., and get paid when the review submitted is approved. Best wishes to you !

Thanks. I really need to practice more and to get back into the habit of writing regularly and using my mind to thing about the things I write about. Kind of like brain gym for writers!! That sounds like a good site. I will have a go.

Check out http://hubpages.com. You can earn while you write. If you want you can also buy your own domain and set up a blog to post your songs/stories on. If you need to finance this venture make extra money with paid surveys (http://offerscrate.com) will get you started in the right direction. good luck...let me know if you get your stuff online, I love reading new things.

Thanks for that. I am hoping to eventually publish the book and be able to offer it on Amazon etc. It's all a work in progress, a bit like life!:) I think I have looked at hubpages before but I do revisit sites that manage to stick around online as they usually improve.

I think Triond is not good for beginner, the article must be perfect no readable error, perfect grammar and punctuation...and that's not suitable for beginner. You should try Squido to make a lense, it's about sharing revenue....and paid per view. If you can bring huge visitor to your article and your article rank up to 1-60, you will get monthly payment about $10-30

I use squidoo but when it comes to pay per view I am not very good at generating traffic. I've tried all sorts of things to attract traffic and have sold a couple of small things through my site. Now I can't get into my Amazon account but I will have to sort it out. I do like squidoo though. It has a very easy site builder and the potential is huge. I just have to work out how to get more traffic!!

There are lots of writing sites, Triond is one of them. Compared to other sites, I think it is suitable to the beginners who just take on the job of writing. What I mean is: if you are just taking on your writing career, and find it a little hard to get published, then first, you should choose Triond. Compared to other writing sites, Triond is a friendly site, on which you can write what you want, if you find it difficult to write 400 words ( some writing sites ask for articles with 400 words), it is ok here. Therefore, you can start from Triond, and your writing career will grow little by little as with your earnings and writing skills. I know lots of people fail at the beginning of writing, and give it up for ever. In Triond, the chances of failure are slim, if only you try to concentrate on writing. You can start writing in Triond. As time goes on, your knowledge and skill will improve little by little. Then you can try to write for other writing sites that have more strict rules.

For me You try Triond, Hubpages, Squidoo, Factoids, and Associated content. sad to say Triond really works for me I've been in triond for about 2 months. It was great experienced and very friendly people. I'm really inspired to write more articles on Triond because of the environment. How nice to write articles when someone appreciates your work.

try Odesk and Freelance. They really pay well. Thoguh have not yet tried working for them but my friends did try already. Mylot is already a beautiful place to look for income but ofcourse, payment here is not yet enough for a daily living allowanc.e We still have to get more jobs to get more money.
