Pick-up Lines

Pick up lines are conversational openers and are usually funny. Often I see and hear jokes embedded in most pick up lines. But sometimes the funny side became a not so very nice fun stuff. Last Christmas, in one of my civic group's parties we had this 'Pick-Up Line' game where there would be 2 people exchanging pick up lines to make the party alive. Initially the lines are funny and quite interesting to participate with. But the last part of the exchanges of pick up lines dealt with a more personal way of humor. And true enough led to someone crying and shouting foul. In my opinion everything has to be in moderation and if it goes nasty must be stopped and put on hold even if they say it was just 'all for fun.' Do you do pick-up-lines with your friends? What experiences good or bad have you encountered?
