AVG! AVG was automatically downloaded onto my computer after receiving my new hard drive. I also had another tech suggest AVG to me. You can find the free download on CNET.com. It is all you need. You will have to keep it up to date with the updates though.. Been virus free ever since!

Both my husband and I use the free version. It doesn't bog my computer and I haven't received any viruses. The tech also told us that the other "paid" version wasn't necessary.
The tech uses avg any and all computers he can.

I'm using McAfee. Not the best, but still works good. I have Malwarebytes and Super Antispyware also, so if McAfee doesn't find the virus, Malwarebytes and Super Antispyware does.

Earlier I was using Quickheal. But at present I am using the KASPERSKY internet security for my system. It is cheaper than Quickheal which in my opinion was better as an Anti Virus device.

It may be and I am glad to know it. But I have no idea of Norton and so I am not in a position to make any comment about it.

Currently I'm using MSE as my antivirus because it has low memory usage and always updated and the main advantage is. It's created by microsoft and it won't have any conflicts with your windows OS.

I don't know about KASPERSKY but I used quick heal which is best for me because quick have lots of features like internet security, mobile scanning, pc memory scan, boot section scan, etc. Quick Heal security is better then KASPERSKY.
and Norton is also best one because their security is too too good if your system have small virus then they also detect it and remove quickly. norton also not open any external har disc or pendrive without scanning. if thye found any type of virus the it is block it. but Norton is costly.

good but I suggest you quick heal because quick heal security is more powerful for KASPERSKY.
choice is your what you want.

I have installed Quick Heal, Trend Micro, Kaspersky and Symantec Business edition in our network.. among of them, I personally preferred symantec (Norton) but yeah Kaspersky Internet Security is really really very good security solution.. it's antivirus and firewall both are very capable to fight with attacks.

I also use KIS 2012. I am using kaspersky for more than tree years. And I think this is the best antivirus software. The most important part of this softeare is its unique user interface which is easy to mangae. It also has some good feature for parental control.

Kaspersky is definitely a good program. I was previously using Avast, not because it is free but because it did the best jog for me.
I recently had a problem with a virus called Windows 7 2012. It makes you think you are being attacked by multiple virus' and wants you to buy their anti-virus program which is a scam.
I took considerable time to remove it and still have problems. I have researched many programs to protect my computer and I am going to go with Bit Defender. It is ranked number 1 in computer protection.

Well, right now I am using Vipre on my laptop and Avast on my desktop. Bit Defender is supposed to be really good and I can get up to 5 licenses for about $50.00
When I can afford it I believe I will try Bit Defender. That Windows 7 2012 virus got through my Avast, turned it off and wouldn't allow me to run any programs. It also cut me off from the internet. It turned off my firewall and added exceptions for malware to communicate with my computer.
I had to use my desktop and go online to Tech Spot Open Boards and it took me a week and many posts of advice and programs transferred by flash drive to finally get it working. I am still afraid there are traces left but If I re-install Windows 7 Professional I might lose my Microsoft Word 2007. I have legitimate COA sticker but I got my laptop from my online college so I don't know if Microsoft Word comes with Windows 7 Professional or not.

I using Norton 360 and satisfied with same. Yet not used KSPERSKY so, can't tell which one is better, but Norton 360 available for three user in just 1.4 times prize of single user, so we three friends combined purchase it for cost of 45% of its single user cost.

hi simsim11,
When internet grows at faster rate, computer viruses can produce more threats to our computer system. I have used lot of antivirus software to protect my PC with virus. Among those, kaspersky is best one to protect our software and data in our computer system. At present, i am using Kaspersky internet security 2012. It has more facilities and effective features in it. It can delete most of dangerous virus activities. It rejects the unknown malware infecting your computer. The main advantage of KIS is to prevent our computer or laptop from slowed down by cyber criminals activities and virus.
