I was wondering if anyone has lived in a slab foundation house, what do you think of them? Have you ever had any problems with water pipes, etc...? or any problems with water splashing up on the wood of the side of the house when it rains, did that cause any problems because slab houses are built so low to the ground? Would like some help in knowing any plus or minus about slab built houses.

I have one now and had one in Florida a few years back. They usually have about a foot of cement before the siding starts so it is not right on the ground. I do notice mud splashes on my neighbors house (light yellow) when it rains really hard.
What I don't like is the fact that I have no basement! I miss the extra space. The slab also makes your floors colder since your ground level floors sit on concrete.

Yes that is one thing you don't have with a slab house is there isn't a basement, so you would miss that extra storage space. I guess if you live in a warm climate like Florida the cooler floors would me nice, but if you live in colder climates I would think that carpets would provide a warm floor then.
