Wikipedia, The source of all kind of information.

I was wondering, Do you guys and gals get (all) your information from Wkipedia, why you do this? And I also wondering, if you don't use wikipedia what do you use instead of wikipedia? I use wikipedia and when I found the information, I will search on the nternet if it is trustfully. How you guys/gals see this?

isn't Wikipedia something that can be misused, can't anyone add information on this site which to me can be abused either by ignorance or trouble makers unlike the old fashioned encyclopedia, maybe I am wrong but I think anyone can add to wiki...

No, the new Wikipedia is very strict with their information. When you add something, you will get a message/notification about that you need to put genuine and true information. And if you don't do this you will get a ip-ban or a warning. The control everything. I was putting some Coldplay information on the Coldplay wiki-page and I was rejected, because it wasn't yet announced the information I was adding.

Oh thank you for that, I have never been confident about it in the past as I know a friend of mine put some things on it and even though I trusted his info I thought others may not be so accurate....thanks

Yes most of my word search is fond in that a great site to help other students and also we people here always online.

I also use the internet as source, but Wikipedia is fast and easy, but when I doubt about the information on it, I will search the internet.

in such a case of Wikipedia is a source of all information that you search for. so if you want to know any information, or have any queries you can obviously get the information from wikipedia.from A to Z you will know your most wanting information.

I use Wikipedia if I'm just curious about a fact. If I need information for school or work writing, however, I start with Wikipedia and then find other sources to back up the fact. Wikipedia is usually a great place to get information that's laid out clearly and cleanly, so it's easier for me to understand. Once I understand the concept, finding the facts I need online is simpler.
