Well not that i really don't like garlic off course i do , it gives a dish a wonderful pungent aroma and it improves the body and flavor of a recipe.Though there are times that im hesitant to use garlic because I get really sensitive with the smell when i keep on smelling it and when i chop or make a paste out of it the smell stays in my finger for a little while and i really don't like it. Do you encounter this smell problem often? what do you do with your hands to remove the odor?

I like eating fried garlic specially the ones in fried peanuts. I also like the chopped roasted ones being topped on the chicken porridge. Well, maybe you can rub your hands and fingers with a sliced lemon. Rub it well and then rinse it and put some soap so to make it smell good already.

Oh yes pepai, you can use the calamansi. It even erases the smell of the fish in the finger. I think Tamirs, we all loved that toasted bits of garlic in our arros caldo. Makes my mouth water too and crave for arroz caldo.

Try washing your hands with Calamansi.I often do that.I learned that when we manage a small restaurant near our place. We cook lots of dishes everyday so we need to lots of garlic in the evening(so it will be ready for use in the morning). Our helper thought me to wash my hands with Calamansi to wash the odor away.:-) Hope that helps..

I love garlic, but just a tiny bit to give a touch to my dishes. I donĀ“t chop it or make a paste of it with my fingers as they would reek of garlic for a long time. I have a carlic grinder. You put a garlic clove inside than pres. The grounf garlic comes through very small holes.

i hate the smell of garlic too, though i know it improves the taste of a recipe (like in our local recipe, Adobo). So i put in as little garlic as possible. It's amusing to know I'm not the only one who doesnt like garlic that much :DD

i just love the taste of garlic so use a lot in my dishes.moreover its really good for health as it helps in combatting high blood pressure, diabeties, and acidity also.i love the garlic pickle also.i usually make it at home. yes the smell is not good when it is on our hands.i tell you a very simple trick to get rid of it. just take 1 tsp of vinegar and rub on your hands..stay for 2-3 minutes and wash it with plain water.then you can wash once again with some perfumed handwash..and here you are done...NO MORE SMELL.. simple isnt it...:)

Though garlic is loaded with vitamin c and antioxidants, and it is my favorite of all the spices, it does have a lasting scent that stick in the air, as well as your hands. Worse, if you ingest too much, it will also cause sweat to reek of garlic for the next day or so. I don't know what will remove smell from hands...but citric juice will take away the burn your hands can get when cutting jalapeno peppers without gloves...perhaps this will work to remove garlic scent also?

There are several ways to rid the body and breath of the smell of garlic. Lemons or perfume are my favorite ways. Here are some links that will help you: http://www.ehow.com/how_6025083_rid-garlic-smell-body.html http://www.howtogetridofstuff.com/odor-removal/how-to-get-rid-of-garlic-smell/

I very seldom us garlic. If I use any garlic I use garlic salt in my dill dip for vegetables. I have had something that I bought with garlic in them and you are so right the smell of garlic can be very strong. I guess I don't use garlic as my mother did not use it when she cooked. I think it is all what you are use to. I know you can use raw potato to get onion smell off of your hands. I wonder if it would work for garlic too. What about putting the garlic between saran wrap (plastic wrap) or put it in a ziplock bag, when crushing it. Then just scoop it out of the bag or between the plastic wrap. Or use rubber gloves when doing the chopping or making the paste.

That's right the smell is not that good for people who do not like to eat it but most people in the world love to eat it and can not imagine a dish with out garlic, Garlic has many benefits for our different systems. Most people find it good not only for taste in food but for keeping their cholesterol under control.
