My rabbit, devoured by a fox.

A few months ago, I owned a beautiful grey rabbit. She had the smoothest fur you could imagine, and light grey eyes. She would just sit on your lap for hours and hours (pooping, a lot) just hugging you. We owned two dogs, both border collies. The oldest of which looked somewhat like a fox. One day, while our rabbit was eating in the grass, and I was in the shower. My brother ran upstairs, slammed on the bathroom door and shouted "Roxy's been attacked by a fox!". I instantly jumped out of the shower, dried myself and threw some clothes on. I got outside and my little rabbit (only about 3 months old) was lying there, covered in blood, but still alive. Crows were going crazy and circling us. My brother rushed in his car, while I wrapped my rabbit up in a towel, and drove it to the front door. I hopped in the car as fast as I could and my brother drove us both to the vet. We were put straight to the front of the huge queue (understandably, we were the only people with a possibly life threatening injured pet) and the vets put her down on the table. We waited for about 3 hours while Roxy was sitting there, not moving at all, for our mum to get to the vets (she was very far away) because neither of us were 16 and could not sign the papers for the vets. Unfortunately, we had to put the rabbit down. One of her lungs were burst and her neck was completely ripped open. We didn't want her to feel pain at all, so we didn't think that it was worth trying to save her (that sounds cruel, but I couldn't word it differently). We think that she didn't run inside because, like I said, one of our dogs looked like a fox, so she might have thought that the fox was our dog. We loved our little rabbit, and now that we've moved to the U.A.E., we don't know anywhere to get a new one.

We have a rabbit and don't put her outside for now, there is a lots of predators out there. We have to be wiser then the predators. If you get a new bunny please watch it, don't leave it unattended , they are pretty much defenseless. We have our nice female bunny " Clara" she is a year old and never saw the outdoor I don't think that I'll dare put her outside, unless I know she would be fine she is so precious.
