I have traveled many times to the US and have many stories about my trips. The US is more than a country: it is a continent with a great diversity. Yet when I come to this interest, all I read is about politics but never about what I heard sing so many years ago: "O beautiful for spacious skies..." I would love to hear about where you live, a story about your life as an american in a certain part of this beautiful land. It would be still better if you enclosed a picture. I will post a picture taken in Miami, the last time I was there. I have losts of pictures taken everywhere. How about you? Is for you your land an awesome place to live?

Hi... My place isn't really beautiful.. My country is full of negative things and depressive stuff... The diversity is seen in terms of financial status. There are a few whose riches reach the sky, and there are many who worry about the daily meals. And no one is worried about the 'many' who suffer. Darwin's law of 'survival of the fittest' has shown the best results here. I love America. Even though I am born in India, my ideology is that of an American. Many times in my sleep, I dream of going to America and stay there and make a life. My former girl was from America. I wish I had got success in getting to her....

I think that the relation between rich and poor is seen everywhere in the world. India is not the only country who has a diversity based on money. But India is a beautiful country with many different kinds of people, food, costumes. Still, I was centering my post in the natural beauties of the US and how native born americans view their country.

Hello Pearl, INDIA no doubt is not good as US/CANADA but surely its better than many other countries so we are lucky that we are not born there.I am an INDIAN too i know US/CANADA are very much developed than our country but then we are also trying to get better and hope so we will reach up to their level in future.

Yes that is the BIG problem i also have heard that many of the south INDIANS don't like to speak in HINDI though they know it. That's right people do mock for MAHATMA GANDHI and others but that happens every where as some people think +ve and some -ve and to say who is correct is always a question of debate. But i think one day we will also be in the same position as US and CANADA.

I live in the United States of America and yes it is beautiful! I just wish that one day I will be able to see other parts of the world! The world is such a large place and many beautiful lands that I have yet to see and it is my wish to see the whole world before I die! My grand parents who are no longer living Bless their souls. But they were able to travel and see the whole world before their passing and it is my wish to do the same! Have a wondefrul day my friend.

I like America and have had three trips there. When I was twenty years old I visited California including LA and San Diego. I was on my trip around the world and on that journey my next stop was Hawaii. I loved that tropical island with high waves and beautiful beaches. When I was twenty eight years old I was on my way to and from New Zealand. I went back to LA and up to San Francisco via Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz. I also went back down to San Diego. I found the coastline picturesque and the cities fascinating. I would like to visit Miami, Washington DC, New York and Boston in the future. I wished I had been able to visit Seattle but it wasn't possible on my trip to Vancouver in Canada.

Hi Maxine, I had the opportunity to visit the US several times with my husband. We would either rent a car or friends would lend us one. I have travelled across the US several times for one or two months each time.

I don't have any pictures right now. I have lost them all over the years. I know lots of great places that I would love to go back to some day. I remember when I was in high school and living in Juneau, Alaska. It was always green there, probably because it rained all the time. My science class (actually all of this teacher's classes) went on a field trip to Glacier Bay. We spent days on a boat that would take us out to different areas where we could explore the growth along the beaches. The mountains came right out of the water so it was really spectacular to look at. It was really amazing to see the difference in growth between two areas that weren't very far apart based on how much time had passed since the glaciers had receded. Unfortunately, I lost all of the pictures I had ever taken over the years so I can't put one here. Who knows, I may go back there again some day. Just not in the winter lol!

I always did like Alaska after the first couple of years of living there. I tried to go back after being away for seven years, but it was just too cold and I had got used to being in California where it was almost always warm. If I could be a snow bird like my parents were, I wouldn't mind going back in the summer and going south for the winter.

I am so sorry you lost your pictures, Debbie. But what you are telling sounds awesome (if cold). Lately I just want sun, just like a lizard. But I have seen a couple of movies about Alaska and it´s beautiful!!!

Hello marj. Yes we do live in a beautiful country. It is beautiful in more ways than one. I count my self very lucky to live here. I have lived in California and Arizona as a child. I have also lived in Nebraska, Kansas, South Carolina and now Michigan. The landscape and weather is so different in each state. They all such interesting history too. When I lived in Kansas and South Carolina I learned so much about the history of how our country came to be so great as we fought for freedom. Right now we are so engrossed in what is happening with our economy that we tend to over look all that is great about our country. If we don't the people in government we can change them, Maybe not as often as we like but we can change them. We can worship where we want and as we want. We can speak out about our dislike for the President and not worry about what will happen. We can gather in groups and protest making our voices heard. When I look around the way things are in other parts of the world I wouldn't trade places with any of them because Amereica is really beautiful with her worts and all..

Hello marj. Yes we do live near one of the lakes. We didn't get any snow until Thursday and it has been snowing since then. I'll try to get a picture of the snow this weekend. I don't seem to be able upload pictures.

I do wish you posted here a picture of the place where you live and said something about it. I have traveled a lot by car through the US, but many people only see it in the movies. And that´s not the real thing, as you know. Michigan has many awesome things. Do you live near the lake? Could we see a picture of a Christmas with snow? Please share!

Well, I live in Lexington, KY which is coined as the horse capital of the world. There are a lot of beautiful and historic farms around here, but in the past two and a half decades that I've lived here things have changed a whole lot, there isn't nearly as much farm land as there was when I was younger. However, we are still lucky enough to have a few jewels in our city. The first one is Keeneland, which is perhaps one of the most beautiful race courses in the world and we also have The Kentucky Horse Park, which is a beautiful farm where you can learn a lot about horses.

My Friend, America is really so great for its naturalmbeauty, for its inteligentia and for its generous and kind heart. Who can calculate the multi billions and billions of dollars sent by America to the poor and needy nations! Most of the talented and intelligent students migrate to USA to study because they find best of facility to create background to express their talents. Who can forget the billions of American youth who are the victims of war not to protect their country alone but the worldwide foriegn countries!!! Who can calculate the sufferings underwent by Americal militia to aid the helpless countries!! Her In Itlay I saw the burrial ground where so many American youth are burried there and often I think of their parents, wives and children. Italians often say it, we wedre saved because of American Military force. Of course America is great and beautiful for its wide sky and horizon, flora fauna and climate. Really America has breeded beautiful generations and leaders.

Helllo It is wonderful to see a discussion that does not have to do with politics I have to agree! Greetings from Southern Illinois. Not the greastest place on Earth but certainly beautiful if you know where to look. I love to roam the Shawnee National Forest where there are many hidden beauties right in the heart of the USA. It's an awesome place to live if you like the hometown country style life one of those places where older couples usually come to settle down in a peaceful little town. It's a great place to raise children but I wouldn't suggest it. Other than going out in the Shawnee National there's not a whole lot left to do for the youngsters. I'm not sure how to get a picture uploaded in a comment but I do have quite a few that I will upload if you would like to see!!
