...love to learn, hate the requirements

Basically this is my situation as a student. I love to learn loads of stuff from any approach or avenue. Of course, most of what I learning (and still learning) is from the traditional setting of school. The only thing that dampens my enthusiasm sometimes is the existence of requirements like papers. It’s very easy to assume that you learned something but applying it is a different matter, even though it is an expectation. It is frustrating sometimes because sometimes it kills the enthusiasm for learning.
Does this happen to you? Do you feel the same way?

I think that paper work is good because you have to work with what you have learned so far to produce something , creat new facts.
This is studing in it's core. Just reading and remembering things will get you no where. You need to know how to use what you learn.
The paper work with a due time really drains the fun time. You must do the work and do it the best you can.
Well , I study SQA (software quality assurance) and they didn't give us any assignement to do. The exam was too easy , I didn't have to think too much and I hope the course will prepare me for the real job after I graduate it. So far I have some doubts.

I get the purpose of application of studies. I know that it's important. However, there are times when the pressure and the timing of these [projects makes me want to get rid of them throw them away. Some teachers pile projects and papers at approximately the same period. I know how to accomplish and deliver them on time but working on two or three papers or projects for me is pushing my limit.

I really understand you.
You need to finish the projects as soon as possible after you get them because you can never know when you will need the spare time.
Sometimes the pressure take away the thinking , making us confused. We don't know where to start. It requires the student to always be up to date with the material and with the projects. No time to sleep nor to play ... :(

It seems that you are describing me! Sometimes I find the things I learned best has nothing to do with my learning plan and I would feel a sense of achievability after I have acquired anything out of the plan, much prod than I do in the plan! After all I am not lonely here:

That really is the thing about school. There are a lot of information to learn, it is just the way that they are going to teach it that I do have a slight problem with. Then again, the poor teachers have all of these mandates that come down from their supervisors and then they likely have information coming down from higher above and then its all a muddled mess.
There is really nothing that can kill a student's interest in a subject faster than strict, rigid requirements. That is just the way it is. There are just a lot of times where I feel like I can do much better with a more casual atmosphere. But yet, I feel like I'm trapped into some kind of box, unable to pry myself loose at all and it is a very bad existence to be in.

See examinations are just a way to let others know about your potential. It may be a wrong frame in many cases but mostly its highly accurate. If a guy is getting good marks, we can surely expect good things in future from him but this frame is not 100% true.
The burning example is Bill Gates. Once he said that " I never scored good marks in my college but now the best students of best colleges work for me".
I hope that explains it all. I know examination discourages the really motive of earning but it stills holds good an an ones trajectory of the future.

Yes! Big Yes!
I hate requirements and everything they force me to do in school. Like you, I don't mind learning. I enjoy learning. Tiring work like papers to write and submit at due time are annoying and a waste of my time. LOL.

We feel the same way! LOL. I have always love learning but not the school works. I don't understand why we need to have a lot of projects though. :)) I have been very concerned about my learnings that I always get disappointed every time I feel like I learned nothing from a subject. It is even frustrating to me to have good grades and learn nothing at all. It's really weird.
