I got a pair of turtles for my daughters boyfriend. I think it was a good trade.

They don't cause nearly as much drama. She'd been wanting some for a while. My father in Law had some in a tank & we'd been preparing to take a couple of them. Last night seemed like a good time since my daughter had broke up with her boyfriend ( the whinny drama queen ) the night before. They seemed like a nice distraction to help her cope. It's good that she'd realized that her relationship was pulling her down & decided to cut him loose. I just hope this time it sticks. She's still having to work on her relationships with her friends after all the damage he caused. Anyways I have a couple red eared sliders to help take care of now. It's a good excuse to get back up to the big aquariums I used to have & enjoy.

They don't cheat or lie and they give you something to focus on when your personal life is in the pits.

You definitely got the best end of the deal!! Seriously, turtles are very interesting. They don't do much, at least the ones I've had, but they are beautiful and I love to watch them swim. Kudos to your daughter. Speaking as someone who always chose the wrong men, I hope she spends some time finding out why she's attracted to such losers so that she can change her parameters and get the kind of partner she deserves. Post some pics of the new additions, we'd all love to see them!
