Should The Law of The Land Conform to God's Law?

Consider this statement:
"We have civil laws, but our civil laws have to comport with the higher law."
If this statement were made by a Muslim leader how would you feel about it? If it were made by a prominent presidential candidate would it change your reaction to it?
How important is "God's Law" to the future wellbeing of your country?

As far as I know all laws are adopted from the laws of God. I don't with other countries if they have "Bill of Rights" in their constitution or having a due process to follow when conducting any arrest, searches and seizures...because due process is adopted from the concept of God asking the first human being if they really eat the fruits being prohibited...
Don't believe that their civil laws did not adopted from the high laws because if no reference from the old laws which is clear coming from the bible. They never make laws from their own...but if the laws they made is all against humanity like barbaric acts of killing without due process...that laws is not conformity with the laws of God or human laws..

How do we choose which of "God's Laws" should become apart of civil law and which should be ignored?
Where do we find"God's Laws"?

The whole holy Qur'an itself was a law, and it never change since the beginning.
Not like the bible that become old and new, that create chatolic and protestant.
The wrong description of holy Qur'an by every mankind who read it who make it seem horrible. Also who create Sunny, Syi'ah, etc.

Well now, everybody claims to have God's laws yet no one can agree. Why do you think all those religions can't get along? Instead of relying on holy books written by mankind along with all the religion's views,we should get those laws directly from God, Himself. While everyone is working on that, let's use some common sense. God grants everyone total freedom so freedom must be a Big part of the system. Of course, some laws should exist to protect people. After all, we can't allow serial killers to run around crazy. If we allow religion to run the country, which religion would be the right one?? My vote is none of them.

Civil law should never at any time ever be associated with any religious considerations. The laws should be devised by a body elected by the people and made purely for the benefit of the people as a whole with no consideration for any superstitious beliefs that may be held by anybody

I think you should look at the evidence of history. When the government lives by and encourages others to adhere to God's laws, are conditions better or worse for that country? In regards to the United States, I believe we are a better nation when we live by Christian principles.

When governments in what is now the United States were adherents to Christian principles Quakers were hung by Puritans and witches were executed. The evidence of history does not paint a pretty picture.

Without a higher law than man, you will always end up with a dictatorship.
With any civilized system, the system will only last as long as people believe there is an inherent higher power that trumps mans rules.
The moment we believe we are the ultimate authority, you end up with every cruel dictatorship in history.

Adherence to and governance by "Gods Law" results in a free society like Saudi Arabia. The evidence contradicts your claim.

Which "Christian principles" do you have in mind here? What laws are enacted as an embodiment of these principles and specifically enshrine "God's Laws"?
"God's Laws" are what people perceive them to be. If you are a Muslim they are found in the Qur'an. The Christian finds a different set in the Bible.
I live in a country that has been "civilized" much longer than the United States has existed but has never believed that there was a higher power that trumped man's rules.

Actually the most free society, is due exclusively to adherence to Christian belief. Every freedom we enjoy in America, and the UK, and most of Christian based Europe, is due to Christian principals.
The only way you are correct, is if you define "gods law" to be exclusively Muslim. In which case, you are correct.
I of course, do not believe in Islam, or the Islamic 'god'. So my perspective is wouldn't come to that conclusion.

The Bible says "Give unto Ceasar's what is Ceasar's and give unto God what is God's". I believe it means that we have to have a separation of religion and the government. the government cannot implement policies or laws depending upon "God's Laws" because we don't happen to have the same religions. Some laws may contradict the beliefs of others including their religious traditions and culture. Since the law is for everybody, it must not be based on beliefs but what is humane.

ah, but then comes the heated debate as to the laws being the laws of WHICH God. there's plenty out there to choose from. if we say we must live by Gods law, do we mean all of them?
no, Law should be separate from religion. all of the religions. no religion should be held in greater esteem in the eyes of the law of the land, or that country can't govern all of it's citizens fairly.

The minority always lose to the majority, it's always be like that never changes.
A country with a majority of muslims will use or adopt islam law's.
So does the country with other religion, the strong that who in charge.
Have you ever hear about islam law's that make you as a another rase?
As a creature that have no rights to do anything.
The sisters (christian) allowed to wear their uniform, and we respect them.Look in France, how they treat muslimahs.
Loot at the Lebanon, Sarajevo, Palestine and many country that a muslim was the weakness side.Even they are the majority.

Generally all laws made by man is the same as what God's laws are. All the laws are made to make sure we humans follow a set of rules to live our life. There are differences of course in the details, but the general spirit of the law is to make good and don't do evil. I feel that all religions are good and their scriptures are good. It is the interpretation of it that differs. If we have to go into details, it will a never-ending process. I would think that there is actually a law within our body that governs us - our conscience. Whether we want to listen to it and act accordingly is another matter. God's law and civil law are the same in spirit in their purpose. There is no conflict if we all are good.
